Tying a reef knot with a pair of bobbins
You need a bit of thread between your work and the pair you want to tie - approx 4-5 inches or 10-12cm.
First half of the knot:
Turn your bobbins upside down and make a cross with the right hand bobbin on top of the left, take the left hand thread and put it over the bobbin. Gently slide the knot off of the bobbins and then tension to your lace or pin.
Second half of the knot:
Turn your bobbins upside down again but this time put the left hand bobbin over the right hand bobbin. Take the right hand thread and put it over the bobbin and gently slide off the bobbins, pull to tension and tighten.
If your reef knot is formed correctly, you can cut this really close to the work.
