Not longbows but barebows. A longbow has to have a D shape to both the stave and the strung bow. These bows also have a shelf so they are not shooting around the post. The targets are small compared to longbow targets which are 122cm, their yellow is 20cms wide and longbow score 1,3,5,7,9, if you get the bull its scored as 9 but marked with "X" to sort out ties. These targets are 80cm I think so the yellow is about 12cms. 30yrds is a testing distance as the arrow is still rising from the bow, any difference is draw length or finger tension release can change the trajectory as well. Haukur is using a hybrid recurve eye level stance but with a mediterranean grip. Matthias is using a field archery stance with a mediterranean grip. Both bows look to be at least 50lbs, so it can get tiring towards the end.
They are actually classed as a modern longbow. Traditional longbows also don't have to fit to the "D shape" law (5/8" rule), as that was a Victorian era ideal for english target longbows. But earlier on they were in a wide range of shapes, profiles and such as they were made in relation to the wood, not forcing wood to only work in a specific style

why nowhere distance is indicated. As a new person to archery its an important for my perception to know from which distance they shoot barebow with no sights. I do not think that they shoot Olympic distance of 70 meters so is that a 30 meters these man shoot at?
Normally indoor rounds are 18m, with some 25m rounds existing. In this case for longbow it was 12m. Longbows with typical target draw weights and those wooden arrows need quite a lot of elevation to shoot Olympic rounds and so wouldn't do well

I consistently shoot an apple from 10 meters with bad tillered survival bow and arrows I made myself... Looking at these I am sure it is some beginner level competition after very short training.
I practice on dimes and pennies, I would like to see competitive shoot hit moving targets. And shooting on the move and limited time target shoots. It seems you will find better archers than just standing stationary shooting in controlled environments.

When a hunter is Stalking an animal over terrain and debris, having your Bow in the "Canted position" is more manageable than having it vertical position .. It's a bow hunters way, when stalking and stopping to shoot. Haukur, reminds me a modified version of, Japanese Kyudo style of Shooting.
These are "longbow" in name only, they are very modern flatbows. Pretty much any member of an archery club that has 1 year of practice can shoot at least that good. That's a beginner level competition with a big target on a very short distance with light poundage bows. The Olympic level version of this competition has targets that are at 4.5 times the distance they are shooting here.
