    Living is WNY, a snowblower is a must. Mine wouldn’t start. What a phenomenal educational video. Followed your directions, took the carburetor apart, found the issue with a clogged jet, cleaned it, put it back together and it fired right up. Thank you sir, keep up the great videos.

    He clearly knows his small engines. The detailed explanation and information is fantastic. I thought I was going to need a new carburetor. I Drained the carburetor bowl, let it sit for an hour or so, gave it another try and the motor started right up. Saved me time and money.

    The level of detail, tips, and facts you give us is incredible. After watching other videos on the same subject yours is by far the best. The videography is also great as you provide clear video which is focused where the viewer would want to focus on. The lighting is great as well. Overall great instructional video which has given me the confidence to tackle this tonight as a winter storm is looming and I already have a layer of snow to remove. Your comment on the effects of leaving fuel in the machine over storage (even with stabilizer) is now prompting me to run it dry before storage going forward. I don't have access to that clean fuel you mentioned here in Canada, but I can use your other tips to counter act. Liked and Subscribed, thank you.

    Brad supplements users manuals by lending his experiences to problems that might crop up.
    Saves having to load the blower onto a trailer to take to the maintenance center.

    Brad your video is so good I was able to fix my snow blower. Needle valve was clogged. This machine should come with a fuel shut off to avoid this problem. Other machines I had I would shut off the gas valve and run it until it ran of gas! Great video!

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines

      I'm glad your back up and running! I would suggest not buying pump gas or at least buy non-ethanol pump gas if you can. We do not have non ethanol gas in our area. Aspen4 is what I highly suggest using and you will not need to rebuild your carburetor again. You are 100% correct. If they would put a fuel shut off inline, you could run the machine dry. Thank you for watching and the kind comment!

    Good video, thanks for taking the time to make this. I just bought a new Cub Cadet snowblower, it's being delivered tomorrow. This and other videos like it have inspired me to take my fuel game more seriously and stop using gas-ahol. There is a station not too far from me that sells non-ethanol gas, that's all I am going to use from now on.

    We have our first storm coming in tonight. And I tried for an hour trying to find the way to take the choke knob off. Your video helped me perfectly. What was even more impressive was I tried first to drain the carburetor bowl cup and watched until the new fresh gas started draining. Since it was dark, been working on it for 2.5 hours, my fingers were cold, I just prayed that draining the carb bowl would work and I put the parts back in and started it right up. Thank god. Excellent video. Very detailed showing the dismantling of the carburetor and the reinstallation. Your video skills were excellent. I could get my spark pug out but I was able to get starter fluid into the carb and realized I had a carb issue. The other was I could not get a wire small enough to get into the jet that is black and is encased in plastic. I soaked it in gumout and found speaker wire thin enough. It was much harder than the smallest needle I ever had to thread. 0:06

    A big thank you from me. Snow thrower was only on its second season and wouldn’t start. Followed your lead and cleaned gunk out of one of the jets and it fired right up. The fuel must have been horrible because it left a residue on the o-ring of the carburetor bucket as well. A gas shut off valve on these would have been nice. Hey Brad. Great video. I think this is exactly what is wrong with my snowblower. Last spring i bought it three days before the last snow storm of the season. Everyone has there opinion on how to store your machine. In our area we do not use them much so for the last few years I have been suggesting start using Aspen4 gas. Check out the link to read up on it and to see if it may be good for you and if you can get it in your area.www.aspenfuels.com/products/alla/aspen-4/. (1) If you use your machine every year for a few months, I would suggest using Aspen 4 or good gas with fresh fuel stabilizer. Fill the tank full, then run it every 45 to 65 days for 15 minutes. (2) If you want to run the machine dry, use aspen 4 fuel or good gas with fresh stabilizer and run machine dry, then remove the side bolt on the carburetor and drain until empty. Shake the machine and make sure all gas it out of tank, fuel line and carburetor. You should be good to go either way! Thank you for watching and I hope you get going soon. Great video, thumbs upped and subscribed! Walked through everything and got my blower started again, but now have blue smoke out the exhaust while running for a minute or so. Would anything about cleaning the carb cause this? I didn't think I overfilled oil but wondering if I failed to reset a gasket somewhere.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว

      Double check to make sure the oil is level and not too high on the dipstick and double check and quadruple check if needed. make sure you’re on level ground when checking the oil level or at least the engine is level double check to make sure the oil is not very thin as in smells like gas. If you have any doubts that there may be gasoline in the oil, then change it. if everything checks out and your oil level is good and it does not smell like fuel, then I would suggest running the machine at a standstill for about 10 minutes and see if it goes away. Sometimes after we struggle to get our machines running there is an abundance of gas that’s in the muffler that needs to burn away.

    Would Trufuel 4 cycle be comparable to Aspen 4 fuel?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, but my opinion and from what I have learned is TruFuel does work, it’s non ethanol, and has stabilizers in it and is much better than pump gas but it still has the harmful products inside that are very bad for the environment and ourselves. It also doesn’t stay fresh as long as Aspen4. The bottom line is yes if you only can get Tru fuel, then I absolutely suggest using it over pump gas if you cannot get Aspen4

      ok, I appreciate your input. I only asked about the Trufuel because there is an Ace Hardware just down the street that sells that. Went to the Aspen 4 website and checked on the dealer search for my city and there is one place a half hour away that I will go there to purchase for my snowblower.@@JohnsonsSmallEngines

    Is there no air cleaner housing/element?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, there is not an air cleaner on most snow throwers built after 2000 unless there was a engine change during the life of the machine and did not use a snow engine.

    The engine on the Cub Cadet looks exactly like the engine on my Troy Built Storm 2410, do you know what company manufactures it?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      China import to put on your machine. The parts you can get through the parts breakdown of the machine you have (TroyBilt) made by MTD.

    Idle speed screw: when I have to remove that I will turn it IN as I count 1/2 turns so I know how far out it was. Then I write it down. That way when I replace it I can simply snug it down, DON’T OVERTIGHTEN, and then turn out the appropriate number.

    What is the required RPM at Full throttle on these Cub cadet engines? Anyone know is a 3200 or is it 3600?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Most factory settings are 3600 to get the most horse power but I have found that at 3600 rpm’s many engines will burn more oil. I set most of my equipment I work on at 3300 rpms as it does not effect much loosing 300rpms and the engine will last so much longer. Except generators. Generators must run at 3600 rpms so the electricity is constant set at a curtain output.

    have you had a new unit with a fueline barb come off with the hose? only 2 years old

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are talking about the metal fuel inlet on the side of the carburetor? I have not come across that issue. They are pressed in from when they are made and if it was loose, it would have leaked fuel as soon as you filled the gas tank up.

    • @stevengegg6405

      well my carb was plugged, i lifted the hose with your same tool and when i grabbed the hose lifted it off the barb was in it, i contact cub and told them about this issue, but decided to replace the wholw carb with a new one, only 45.00 dollars
