I have done all those peaks, many multiple time. My most enjoyable trip I have ever had was in 2013 with my ten year old daughter. We did the presidential travers. We took three nights and four days. Your wife and you are both in very good shape as that was one serious death march, that is what my older kids used to call backpacking with dad. I agree the trail south of the Lakes of the Clouds is wonderful. You did a great job recording your adventure, thanks for sharing it. Take care.

Thank you for your kind words! My older kids haven't found a love for long distance hiking yet but my youngest loves to go, go, go and I can't wait to take her on trips like this.

That was a perfect video!. You coalesced 2 days into under seven minutes succinctly. I have done the northerns, but not the southerns. I am of Jurassic vintage, and don't have much time left to appreciate such things. Climbed the mountain (Washington) July 29 2018 through Huntington Ravine (ostensibly the most difficult trail in the White Mountains) at age 57, just to prove I could still do it. Used to climb it every year in my 20's & early 30's, but time has a way of stealing simple pleasures. Lord willing, there will still be a next time.

Well documented , filmed and narrated . Made about 10+ trips to the northern Prezzies back in the mid 80s to late 90s , both in summer and winter , and made memories to last a lifetime ! Most were mountaineering trips , but one was with my wife on our honeymoon , driving around this beautiful region . This is one of the nicest vids iv'e seen on the traverse .Thanks Timm for sharing, and all the best to you both .

NH may have the best hiking area on the planet as the Mountains are not to high but high enough to feel accomplishing and everything is easily accessible from a simple hike to hiking the highest summits as theirs something for everyone . Also the weather during the warmer months is perfect .

thanks for the great video ...your descriptions & thoughts are great for those of us planing the do the Presidential Traverse.
I'm trying to choose between starting from Pinkham Notch (old jackson to madison gulf to osgood et) or do starting at the more heavily traveled Valley Way Trail.
Was the Osgood Trail from the Osgood tent site up to Osgood Junction really so steep it wasn't fun or are the amc descriptions overblown?
    thx for the info

It was early July. One of the great things about the whites in the summer is you often start in 80 degree temps at the base and climb into cooler air. It's a nice reprieve. Good luck!

Yes, definitely. I like to start there, then the rest of the way feels "downhill"

The Flume Slide trail is a hike that I wouldn't recommend as me and my wife did it . We didn't see one person all day as it's very steep , wet , slippery and It's really not a trail .
