Saying Zach Wilson wasn’t set up for success in New York is laughable. Had a #1 defense, and a #1 receiver. All he had to do was not fuck up, and he did amazingly
But look at his offensive coordinator’s a good coach is better than a good defense for a qb
Jets OL was ranked dead last year in almost every category. Rodgers lasted only 4 snaps behind that line before being injured -- and the OL line got worse yet as the season progressed. The Jets also led the league in dropped balls. Yeah, that sounds like a set up for success. The OC was clueless as well. LOL
@@markp2629 #1 defense, #1 receiver and a top 5 talent in a running back are things that help a quarterback. All I said was Zach just didn’t have to fuck up and he was trash. O-line argument works like 50% when other quarterbacks like Joe and Luck played with trash lines and was still good. Getting drafted at #2 to me has to offset and he didn’t. Zach is a pathetic quarterback 😂
@@ErikLeeTroche Yes, those are things that would help; however, a good defense just keeps points off the board, one good receiver on a team is always double covered, a good running back could only do so much behind the worst OL in the league. Check the OL stats in the league, the Jets allowed the MOST pressures in the entire league -- it's amazing Wilson wasn't sacked more often. They were ranked last in blocking for the run AND the pass. Just terrible. That's not much offensive help if you ask me. You sound like a hater...that's fine. He's a Bronco now, and if you are a Bronco fan I don't get the hate for a guy that hasn't even started a game for you -- in fact, he beat Denver TWICE. Payton certainly sees potential in him...he may turn out to be a great backup, you never know.
As an Oregon fan, and Nix fan. I dont think anyone thinks hes going to be some next level QB thats the second coming. But I think its reasonable to think he could be a good QB in the right system. He has just as good of a chance of that as most QBs coming out of the draft.
Agree. He's nothing special, but he can make the small plays (screen dumps, short slants). He's not a long ball QB and not a scrambler, at least that was not part of the Oregon offense. Don't expect a Lamar Jackson or a Mahomes.

What made Drew Brees was: the ability to get through his reads quickly, getting the ball out fast, god tier accuracy, and no fear of throwing an interception. I can usually tell pretty easily the qbs who won't ever make it, as they are scared of making a mistake

I really like Bo Nix as a QB prospect and am optimistic that we’ve found our guy, but to compare him to Drew Brees is just unfair to Bo Nix. Plus I would rather see Nix become great playing his brand of football or being himself rather than being Brees 2.0.

The next Drew Brees? LOL Can we give the kid any more hype? Since less than 10 percent of all QBs drafted (including high draft picks) actually make it as even average starters in the NFL, the odds are already stacked against Nix to even last 3 or 4 years in the NFL.
Sean Payton could’ve kept Russ & benched him. Russ wants to play so he would’ve signed a modification to his contract to be released so he could play. If he refused they could keep him in the bench & only use him when a starter was injured. That would prevent the huge dead cap hit they now face.

I dunno about Drew Brees… I’m about as high on Nix as anybody and other than being accurate and coached by Sean Payton I don’t really see the comp.
I think Brees is more accurate (freakishly so) but Nix is a better athlete and has got a bit of a zippier arm. I think the comp is a less mistake prone Tony Romo… which is a pretty damn good QB.
Drew could throw the ball further theb 40 yards with accuracy. Also he was BAAADD at auburn !! And carried ar Oregon. His parent werent happy with the broncos cus they know sean peyton dont play around.
