I’ve recently revived my channel. I look back at my first videos and I did lots of ummms whilst speaking. However I’m doing exactly what you’re suggesting, I’ve noticed that my confidence is growing much more and I now feel like I’m chatting to a friend. I love how people are returning and commenting. I am trying! I hit a year this month. I'm over 500 subscribers but still feels like a long way to go! My videos are kinda still all over the place, though. I could keep creating the same type of video, but I would get burnt out and tired of it without the others thrown in.

Do you think the quarantine contributed to the growth of your channel? A lot of people were home with little to do. Also the content is geared toward growing an online biz, which probably interested a lot of people who couldn't work due to the quarantine at that time. ( Not to discount all the groundwork you put in, or the fact that your content is quite good, but I think it's worth considering that might have been a significant factor.)

Hi Jade thanks for sharing all these helpful tips! I wanted to know with the rise of shorts, is it a good strategy to use both shorts and long form content, and how would I go about it? I find that with shorts I’m able to gain more traction easier compared to long form but however watch hours from shorts don’t count and reaching monetization through shorts alone looks like a really big criteria..
I posted once a week for a year then started posting twice a week and monthly views stayed the same. Maybe I'm too off-topic from my niche, but I thought that was interesting. I'm still surprised what videos get more views and which ones don't. 🤷♀️ Love watching your videos, though!

I have a channel on TH-cam that I’ve been posting videos on for months. I only have 9 subscribers😭 almost all of my videos have around 10 views, and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I haven’t really posted about my channel on my Instagram or TikTok, because I’m scared of people I know in real life judging me. I really love making TH-cam videos and I want to start doing it full time, but I’m scared to take that step and then fail. I’m super busy because of college but I love taking videos and editing them and posting them, I just can’t stay consistent with my posting because I’m busy😭 am I doomed. I really want my channel to become a little community, but I don’t know how to gain views. Anyone have any advice????
