I'd say the 609 did the best job without coloring the sound. I think the 906 is a little hot probably not the best for cranked high gain amps but better for anemic sounding clean sound sources like quiet vintage amps to bring out the dynamics and color. The Behringer was like a wet blanket. The CAD was a little bright. I'd like to combine the CAD and the 609 or the CAD and the 906 in flat mode loud high gain guitars. 609 all day for Fender combo. Great comparison. Thank you!
Excellent review! As the sennheiser e906 is the industry standard, all others has to compete with it. In terms of value the superlux is on top with full detail and definition. The behringer b906 lucks all those high frequences and is one dimensional and a bit mud!
I just tested a b906 against an e906 on toms and the behringer is absolutely awful. It's super resonant, muddy, and the bleed from the kit sucks. The e906 is so balanced and natural sounding. The b906 arrived today and I'm sending it back. Don't waste your money or time everyone. If you want a workhorse, just get the e906
Great shootout! You can hear why the e906 is a standard. The B906 was awful in comparison, wow. The CAD was pretty close, and the Superlux was not as good as CAD, but still pretty good. Very helpful, thanks
The B906 was indeed awful. As for the CAD D80, it sounded less like the E906 and more like a SM57, not a bad sound by any means, but anyone who thinks it to be a cheap alternative of Sennheiser will be disappointed.
@@TheNocturnalEvil I just got a CAD D80 and have been using it for about a month now. I can say it's definitely not the same sound as an SM57. It's a good bit brighter and maybe a bit more, I don't know.... thin sounding, maybe? A little less full in the lower mids, for sure. I think it sounds okay on some things I tried with it, but on one song I was recording I just couldn't get the sound I wanted and had to swap back to the 57 and immediately found the sound I needed. I may keep it and try it on some other things and maybe see if it works well paired with some other mics, but I'm a little underwhelmed at the moment. Not a bad sound, per se, but not exactly what I was hoping for.

Helpful comparison. If I had the money, I'd buy the Sennheiser e906. If I was looking for the best bang for the buck, I'd get the Superlux.
3:28 SENNHEISER flat
3:41 SENNHEISER hb
3:53 CAD
4:05 SUPERLUX
4:18 BEHRINGER flat
4:30 BEHRINGER hb
I have the Superlux (for the road) and Behringer (in church) and this video convinced me to turn the high boost on the Behringer.
Listening to it without looking the one mic that finally made me look was the CAD Audio D80, each and every time.
It has a little bit of a bright edge the rest don't it also lacks some body. Perfect to combine with the 609 or the 906 in flat mode.
@@truescotsman4103 Thanks for the advice!

Thanks Makis, the way I hear it your description is totally spot on!

surprisingly the Superlux cheapo didn't do such a bad job ... worth adding it to the spice board I guess ..
Absolutely. I was also really surprised!
Very interesting ! Do you think the Superlux is fine to record bass guitar amp? Thanks
thankyouverymuch !!
Awesome Comparison!
Did you mean the CAD D80? I can't find anything about the E80 online
Yes! Thanks, well spotted!
BEHRINGER B 906 vs Superlux PRA628 MKII for metal guitar sound from tube amp?
