I am the favorite human of a friend's dog. When I have her we talk constantly, even though I don't speak dog...but she knows I'm paying attention to her and trying to learn. She has trained me to give bellies and treats.......and she runs right to me when I visit...no matter who is in between...and sits at my feet. It's probably the best relationship I have known. She has trained me well.

We adopted an 8 year old dog the last day of last year. They gave us a list explaining it will take about three months for him to get used to us. They absolutely nailed that. It was almost exactly three months for him to relax, and I think to realize we weren’t going to just drop him off somewhere. He is such a blast! He will take his favorite toy and actually throw it towards me, then he just lays there and stares at me, waiting for me to play tug with him. He makes us just laugh all the time. We can’t imagine how his last family of 8 years could just drop him off, but we are ultimately glad they did.

      True
I learnt this lesson when I got a pet dog 10 years ago
I am so patient with him speak in soft tones
As a result he is so well behaved hardly barks
      So loving
      Very friendly
Let him do anything he likes
Today he has total trust on us
Anyways my children are grown up now
They are also well settled now
      Blessings
All pet owners are the best human beings in this Earth
They are more empathetic towards all living creatures plants or animals

Yes, it raises the childs oxytocin levels too so that they feel relaxed and happy, loved. There are too many children that grow up lacking this nurturing and is a big issue all their lives, creating addictions that gives them a substitute feeling like food/money/drugs/sex and alcohol. Glad you mentioned this. I worked in Detox and Rehab for a few yrs, saw it up close and personal.😊

My dogs love walking in the creek with me. Boogie loves when I say "let's feed the squirrels!" We put out food daily for them and he hides and chases them all day. He doesn't catch them, but he demands to be outside to look for them (currently 8-10 daily in the yard). When he comes back in tired, he seems so happy; like he has worked all day.

When we can fit a trip to the beach in, we go crab hunting/chasing in the shallow water. He loves that and can spend hours roaming the water and trying to get the crabs out of the water. When he gets exited he will put his entire head underwater while blowing bobbles through his nose. Afterwards he sleeps like a log.

My dog never plays…….He’s got a toy box full of toys, but his stuffed Clifford the big red dog is the only thing he will interact with. He hates other dogs after being attacked at a dog park by and unnuetered boxer puppy and then an 17 year old shitzu. Did I mention my boy is an 80 behemoth? We do walk every day, and take hikes through the state park a couple times a week. He seems to like cats, loves watching the deer that roam through our neighborhood, and absolutely loves the miniature donkey that lives down the road.

Carrots and Apple "slices" are great snacks, yes - but please, NEVER feed your dog an entire apple, as the seeds inside an Apple are TOXIC! Apple seeds contain both sugar, and Cyanide. Google it please if you do not believe me. If you do not know already, please also google what other food items are "NO GO" items for our dogs! Thanks for reading!

I do all of the above and you’re right. I have a great relationship with my two dogs. And I also hand feed them quite often. Keeps them from being aggressive and prevents them from biting people when I bring them with in stores. It enables other dog lovers to approach them.Especially children and that brings us closer together as well. And I also feed them in a regular bowl. and sometimes I make it interesting for them and put it in different vessels keep them from being bored. My dogs are very well behaved and loving, and just a pleasure to have around.❤
