    I just wanna say thank you to everyone for the feedback and support on the past video. There was a lot of advice that I made sure to pay attention to with this video and I hope it shows. I hope to have new videos out much sooner than it took for this one going forward. Thank you again and see you soon :)

    I did ride that train as a kid which I would have called a monorail until I watched your video. It's a long time ago, so i really don't remember much. All I remember is that thanks to that train ride, the zoo could be a lot bigger and give the animals a lot more space that they deserve. Appreciate your documentary, nicely put together.

      more space than they deserve?!

    • @Tiqerboy
      @Tiqerboy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nintendojoe2958 sorry, it should have been "a lot more space than they'd otherwise get". Thanks for catching the error - as I will not hesitate to call a zoo a prison when conditions warrant.

      Yeah I always thought it was a monorail too. TIL

    Very interesting and well executed video. I have never even heard of the Toronto Zoo Domain Ride. It was an interesting concept that sadly just didn't get the love it deserved.
    I quite enjoyed this and am glad to find another channel that is doing more obscure, lesser known topics like this.
    You have my support for sure!

    I remember the Domain ride from childhood and I went today to the Zoo (2022) looking for it its so sad to see it all abandoned. I remember going on it may be once my family didn't want to pay for it other times on top of admission.

    Awesome Doc! The Zoo is as old as I! My uncle was one of the site engineers at the Zoo, till 2001. There is an incident that has happened but not documented. He told me that there was unreported accidents with one of the zoo animals getting on to guideway and being hit and killed by the train and dragged the body of the animal a few meters before stopping. This terrified the operator, and guests that were in the first car. Unfortunately it happened more than twice, then it was ever reported on the news as it would be bad for PR.

    The Toronto police officer who was the lead investigator in the accident was John Knight. He was a traffic officer who was killed a few years later following a stolen Ford Mustang. They never found the suspect. If you visit the zoo there is a memorial tree planted in Officer Knight’s name

    • @TalkingToMyselfProductions
      @TalkingToMyselfProductions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow. That's heartbreaking. I'll definitely be sure to look out for that tree the next time I visit the zoo. I hope one day they do find the suspect and bring them to justice. Rest easy, Officer Knight.

    Just put rails on the guideway and use normal trains. You don’t need a gimmick! You could use some kind of modern narrow gauge train, it would be cool.

    • @TalkingToMyselfProductions
      @TalkingToMyselfProductions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly. It's insane how they've not just done that. It probably would not only be cheaper but easier to maintain. Plus with how Shady Magnovate is, we'd probably already have had a regular train running by now.

    Its sad to walk through the Toronto zoo and see how bad they neglected the tracks and left it to rot. I get they have to be careful of the animals and plant life but its still like a ugly wound in the zoo

    Zoomobile is lame. I miss the “monorail”. The moose and bears at the bottom of that hill get no love since it closed as no one wants to climb back up that hill

    It didn’t help that that stupid kid snuck off the monorail and got his arm chewed off by a wolf, and actually sued the zoo for 19 million dollars, what a world
