@@jdawgsbbq True because they are inaccurate and thus useless. While the Pulse has one you can't use it to control the blower because they also know it's not going to give you an accurate ambient cook temp.
I am SO EXCITED for this!! So glad you made it compatible with the series 2 AND Yoder Smokers! I use the series 2 for my Big Green Egg and have the Yoder 1500S with FireBoard. I have a feeling I’ll end up with 3 or 4 of these!
From the webpage The Pulse will track your cook’s internal temperature and the ambient temperature of the grill using two sensors - one near the tip, and one in the ceramic end. No wires required. --> looks it will transfer two separate temperatures, if so one of them should be able to be used to set the set temperature for the drive fan.
@@FireBoardLabs I think that would be the feature that sells me. I have a rotisserie for my Kamado Joe and if the ambient probe could control the fan, it would be a huge help.
I’m hoping the LSG in the video is confirmation of compatibility. I’m also curious what the max # of connected probes will be. The cabinet holds a lot of butts! Also happy to be able to use an onboard product as opposed to a block.
Very cool. I have a Fireboard 2 (with the drive stuff to run a LSG IVS) + one on my LSG Pellet grill, but I also have a meater block and two of the new meater 2 plus probes (for their high heat tolerance) so will be interesting to see how this stacks up. I really really hope this is like the meater 2 plus probes that have the ambient probe have a high tolerance (I think 1000 degrees)... anything less than that becomes nearly useless for grilling steaks.
@@FireBoardLabs I pre-ordered 4. looking forward to not cussing out the wiring prior to grilling haha. Awesome that you can connect so many to the unit.
No mention of max and min temperatures. This is very very important. The website has no mention of it either. I have multiple fireboards 1 and 2 and other fireboard products, spark etc and I love them. I would get a couple of these depending on temperature ranges. I'm sure smoking is fine, but what about higher temps?
Looking forward to by the pulse, I own a fireboard 2 drive, when will it be available in Australia? And does the pulse control the blower when temperatures drops through the 2 drive system? 🤔
Like many other consumers on here, I wish there was a little bit more information. The big questions are does it read the ambient temperature and what are the temperature range the device is suggested to work at. As much as I love my new Meater 2+, I’d love to have everything run through my FireBoard system.
I'm excited to try these out. I'm curious about how they will sync if you are running two Fireboards simultaneously or switching them from one fireboard to another.
@@W_T.F FB released theirs yesterday and the RFX is quite a bit better in all aspects. The only thing the Pulse has going for it is it uses the same app to work with my FB2.
Juuuuuust when I was about to start cheating on my Fireboard setup in the name of not being annoyed to hell with routing wires through my smoker. Woot. Bonus, I get to block off the port I run them through so I can get the 1% of smoke I lose through it lol.
@FireBoard Labs, can the external temp be used as pit temp for those of us running a fan? IE will I be able to replace my pit temp probe with this unit?
Talk about a video that didn't tell you much. What's the max ambient sensor rating? Excited that it integrates with a Yoder, but def needs more details than this fluff video :/ 🍻
Catchy ad, interesting development, lacking information, unfortunately. TED, explain how it integrates, for example, into an existing fireboard system on a Yoder smoker. That would be a great start. How about temperature range, what can we see there?
Hope more reliable than the Meater block probes and setup. They’ve been unreliable. Additionally, 500f max probe temp makes it hard to do any sort of grilling without the probe getting too hot. A waste of a $500 Australia dollars. Hopefully these are better.
Catchy ad, but I'm a specs guy. Things like minimum and maximum temperature ranges, max range from probe to phone with app, etc.
I'm excited. I can wait for specs as I'm confident they wii meet Fireboard standards or there would be no launch.
And Warranty
@@pawpawstew sadly the new ThermoWorks RFX has much better specs. Like it can be used in frying oil better specs.

Awesome!! FireBoard makes some awesome products and it's nice to see the envelope being pushed even further.
We appreciate you!

That would be dope! So
Many less wires

Sweet! Can't wait to try it out!
This is exciting.... the wireless probe that connects with the FB ecosystem!
Looks great! I didn’t see much value in pairing a Spark with my FB2 Drive but I’ll be picking up the Pulse for sure 👍
Agreed. Have a Spark. Only use it as a thermometer. Disappointing.

Interesting that there showed the Lone Star Grillz pellet grill. They mention the Yoder frequently but never mention the LSG.

Will the "S1G" be open source so we can use other LoRa devices (RAK Wis or Raspberry Pi) to upload the data?
