Just finished the light novel and realized that I’ve misinterpreted Nagi as canonically bad-looking when he’s described as good-looking. Now with the new found knowledge I’d say his design is more fitting than I thought before. Nagi will be moved up on the tier list.

Jyubei has a muted brown for his aura because he draws a lot from traditional Japanese stuff, from his old-school first name to his love of shrines. His aura color reminds me of the muted browns in old Japanese paintings, particularly the color of the aged paper. That and the black color of his hair are both intentional design choices to contrast his love for high-fashion and "glam" style, with his grounds on older Japanese tradition.
What's even funnier is that Rin's brother is like 2-3 years older then him but Rin is like 3-4 inches taller then him (Rin is 186 cm Sae is 179 cm). also Nagi is taller then Rin by about 2 inches which is really funny lol
I feel like Niko will get a cover in the future, like probably somewhere in the next match 🙏 (I love how everyone is still surprised or Atleast find it funny that Nagi is taller than most of the casts 😭🙏)
can't wait for Sae, don't know why but his design is so appealing to me, I hope someday we know what happened to make him give up on being the greatest striker in the world. The concept of giving up of your dream in a shonen manga where everyone is struggling so much to reach theirs make him really interesting and realistic for me. Also he's hot! :3

tbh yeah I hope niko eventually gets a new hairstyle, like the bangs are kinda interesting because "oh he's actually a hidden menace" but he's kinda not that anymore lol plus his eyes are really pretty
This show has some staggeringly good character designs. The faces each look different, which you can't say about every shonen-esque anime (just look at how most girls in Bleach look like the same feisty angy tomboy without ther respective hair colours), the colour palettes are usually a really solid choice and while the clothes are the same for most characters the skin-tight bodysuits (I'll refrain from making gay comments about these) show off the different body types really well. I still think Bachira probably has hands down the best design in the show but he also strongly reminds me of an OC I have so I am biased to begin with. Overall a lot of designs really hit though, even the characters I don't necessarily like are incredibly solid in their looks. I think it's less so about making the coolest looking character but really trying to take every ounce of potential out of the somewhat limited possibilities with the samey clothing and so on, but what the mangaka did to make them stand out from one another is a masterclass in character design for sure. With such a grounded art style it's difficult to pull off but man does it work well.

i think isagi’s aura changed to green because he evolved from blue lock. if you remember from the first selection, all of team Z had a blue aura, symbolizing blue lock. after they evolved from it, they gained their individual colours. (blue for isagi is still better)

Aryu Jyubei (Jiobei) is how he pronounces. Tbh, he's the literal Tengen Uzui in blue lock. I like how they want to be flashy and glamorous, it's just funny that the VA is the voice of Tengen Uzui

you should definitely read niko's spin off novel, there's a reason why he covers his eyes with his bangs. he used to get bullied by his classmates for being an otaku, and they would make fun of his round "cute" (as described in the novel) eyes and say they were scary, so he started growing out his bangs so that they covered his eyes.
This is me, as an anime only watcher of blue lock, with my own theory of what probably will not happen in the show. But; I personally like the idea of Aryu’s aura colour being kind of bland because my theory is that his evolution will involve him giving up(not entirely, but to an extent) playing and being super glam and instead focusing on fully, efficiently utilising his height/lankiness. But that is just my headcannon. Edit: Also, on a side not in episode 13(I think) we do see Aryu’s aura it’s just that it’s not super pronounced and only lasts a couple seconds and it is brown.
