You brushed my memories back. I used to go Borivali National park every month. Thanks for this beautiful video. Go become member of Explorers and Adventurers Club in Bombay. Their meeting place was every Wednesday at Fountain Square near V. T. station. Their elders are good and experienced Himalayan climbers.
Thank you for the opportunity to see this miracle. Probably my point of view on the age of the construction of these caves is not popular. But I have to say. that it was built at least 7000 years ago. Some of the structural elements are similar to the South American megaliths and their structures date back 12,000 - 7,000 years ago. Official historians and archaeologists are unable to accept this dating. Unfortunately, your country is deliberately made younger than it really is. Good luck with your travels!
Visit Jambhulmal point if possible next time! You 'll need to hire a guide for permission from the authorities but its worth it if you got a reasonably big group with you :) Also a small detour from the way after Gaumukh khind will bring you to a partially demolished Gaumukh temple (supposedly haunted but nobody confirms or denies it) ;)
www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=15656430 The Gaumukh khind is the highest point you can go to without needing permission. Since the way beyond it goes through dense forest and is frequented by wild animals and home to venomous snakes, the authorities insist on hiring a guide to ensure safety. adarshh.com/treks-around-mumbai/#sgnp Atleast this was the status quo when i visited last time. Number of people isn't an issue actually. The guide charges were over 1000 or something like that and we were just three, so we went till the temple on our own and came back. P.S: If you look closely in the area around the temple on google earth, you can make out the trail to Jambhulmal point to its north-east ;)
