I already knew I loved this game, and have loved it for about 7 years, after learning about Board Game Arena (where you can play online for free!). When I saw there was a Dice Tower review, it was the first time I wanted to watch one from Dice Tower where I already knew what a great game it is/was. The fact that it was a Tom Vasel review also helped, as I think I like his best. But VERY pleased that we agree whole-heartedly about the game. It's even nicer when played digitally, but I worked very hard to get the version with the nicer box art and then the English cards (only for the reprint to come out with the nicer box art and for almost half the price of the previous version). Bottom line: YAY TARGI!!!
I think when you replace cards in the middle after picking a card up, you replace them with the backside up and only at the end of the whole turn you flip them up, so that the players don't have the information which cards are showing up until the next turn
I think the main purpose of doing this is to prevent players who use Fata Morgana card ability to move his/her tribe marker to the new cards which should only be available on the following turn.
i bought this a week ago, a really great game for 2 players. My wife also likes to play it. I also got Asante and Jambo since Zee also recommended it. Asante is fun but i'm waiting for Jambo to arrive in the mail, so i combine them both.
Will there be a situation where you put all your targis on the rows and your opponent put all his targis on the collumns so that both of you can't put your tribe markers?
I picked this game last year and I love it. It's hard to find good two players games if they are not wargames or card games like Magic. I would really like to see a review from the Dice Tower about a two players game called "1911 Amundsen vs Scott", I think it's a great two players game but I don't know if it is available in the US.
of you are not on a wargame or card game hunt for two you should try instanbul or santiago de cuba.very good games that are working good with two and even more players

Tom should sometimes listen Zee. He mentioned it at least twice in top ten lists. And it was Kosmos two players game :-)
About time you listened to me and Zee, Vasel! :)
LOL I tooremember Zee bringing up this game on an older top 10 post. Im intrested in seening more about the game
This game is really phenomenal and unique. One of the best 2-player worker placement games out there, especially considering the fun per time ratio.
Agreed.

It is few and far between that I've seen Tom gush this much over anything close to this type game. But I have to agree with his review!

I've seen it happen, yes.
Between Targi, Lost Cities and Jaipur, which would be your pick for the best 2p game?
Jaipur
One of the greatest games of our Era. Imo, 2p games don't get better.

That's where I learned about it! :-)
Zee must be glad
IF anyone's just seeing this now, I have a rare english copy on ebay right now!
