I have been using the Wend wax kit (as shown in the video ) on my daily ridden mtn bike. (sram eagle 12spd drivetrain). I found it to be nothing but positive, very quiet drivetrain, no dust or gunk build up. I do understand the concern with the pulley wheels, although I haven't had an issue with this on my bike. I am getting about 200km between applications which is about what I would get on a normal "wet"style oil lube. I was expecting to get longer time in between applications, but alas I don't. I do find that once I've applied the wax, I use a heat gun & warm the chain up & work the wax into the rollers. This works extremely well, it takes about 10-15 min to do this entire process every 7-10 days, I know it's time to re-apply when I can hear the drivetrain making a bit more noise. I use this & sell this product in my shop & recommend it.
I start with this product 3 mounts ago in my road bike and MTB. Yes the derailleur rollers get a little clog but never had the issue with shifting so far
I agree with everything you’ve said. TBH I binned the kit just before I watched this video as I was searching for ways to get the wax off my chain again and came across your review. The wax remover is good but doesn’t get it all off. I also found that the wax dried pretty fast and even after 1-2 turbo spins, hour maybe, chain making a nose as if it needed more wax or lubricant to get it smooth again. Never again will I buy Wend Wax.
The product might not be so good, but I think you are using non standard jockey wheels ? This can also affect the shifting, some derailleurs require a bit of "play" in the jockey wheels to shift well, standard bearings dont have that. It might be that with stock jockey wheels the wend wax would work just fine.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I used the wax on my winter bike as well and that has standard jockey wheels. I had the same issue with clogging and shifting performance.
Hey Neal, I've tried the liquid wax but have gone to Silicone lube from muc-off. Quick clean and top up after every long ride is keeping my clean in great condition

Very good video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Did you let it dry for a couple of hours before riding?

Quite informative video, thank you. I was about to buy it but now i guess i will not and search for something else ( gravel bike winter time riding )
Holy shit you actually applied it correctly. Have you tried the liquid lube? Doesn’t clog your derailleur

Your chain was not 100% oil free.
