I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. I have said it before and I will say it again, you are the hardest working Scavenger/dumpster diver I have watched ............AND......... the most entertaining one out of the many I have watched on TH-cam. I could watch you all day, you just have a way about you that draws me in every time. I get many giggles watching you and you make my day. Hi Mike, looked like one of the smaller boxes had stuff in as well as the big one. A bit of advice, when you have an empty bag and lots of little stuff, use the bag.
Exactly what I was yelling at the screen when he tossed the bag!
No offense Mike, but why do you like to handle things like more than once when loading your scrap into your truck? Especially the little stuff? Or i guess even the big heavy stuff. Pull the bed of your truck closer to the dumpster. When you picked up your lil beat up Milwaukee bag, you could've filled that sucker up with all the smalls. As you get older maybe you'll work wiser. By the way CPAP machine's are big money,

Thanks Mike, for cleaning up the beautiful earth. My son and I clean up garbage where we live, we find treasures, we take to the police station so people get their credit cards, social security cards and wallets back.
You always work hard, Mike, but this time you really worked for your money. There seemed to be so much heavy scrap, but you handled it all! I can't wait to see how much it was all worth! This was one of your best videos, as far as I'm concerned! Keep it up, Mike! We love watching you!

That wire snake you should flea market or yard sale or ebay whatever...it might bring you 20 bucks where as scrap might be buck or 2
The heavy yellow things are track tensioners, probably for a smell dozer or excavator..300-500 bucks ea.
The crate said "scrap parts", the were probably broken.

the cylinder things with the yokes are track adjusters for a Deere dozer, with out the part number I can't tell if they are a 450-500 G-H-J-K or a 650 G-H-J-K if they fit a 650 they are $385 each new
The things beside the dumpster were probably placed there by some dude who rode a bike or a skateboard around gathering up scrap to come back and pick up in his white pick-up truck.

Those Handicap signs are expensive out here in Calif. Our church had to buy some for our parking lot.
Yellow hydraulic Pogo sticks are the in thing, you'll be able to bounce around everywhere with them. Awesome scrap day.

The bases of file cabinets are weighted to keep them from falling over when you pull out a drawer full of files.

Nice haul !!! Gee i'd really love to find the vibratory tumbler for sure. If it works, it is a easy sell item. Metal detecting guys always look for them to clean their finds. Ammo reloading guys too! Dont scrap that!

Hey Mike, I'm truly betting on eBay or someplace you can sell those handicapped signs, they are new-looking and they are worth some money. Please try to sell those for the extra cash, I'm positive you'd be able to. I love that those guys left out those boxes for you, that's some serious awesomeness when people see you coming and going and start doing that for you. :)
Keep those magnets for when u scrap to determine the metal type
Said it before, keep digging, "you'll find good stuff". The electric motors are an easy tear down. As the Desert punk says, "money, money, money!" PS edited time, thinking of getting a dump trailer or would it make you a bit conspicuous? Probably not, it would put more strain on 'ol Dottie. Just an idea to throw out there. $$$$$!
I give the harbor freight stuff to the guys that forget their tools.
That big heavy electric box. You need to take a grinder and check everything inside. Those have copper coated with tin, or #2 copper.

People always bashing Harbor Freight, I've bought countless tools there, as a matter of fact I've got a predator 4000 watt generator, I use on the job every day it's never failed me. It starts on the first pull every time.
That's the thing, you use it every day, so you look after it. If you don't take care of your tools, doesn't matter where you bought them. Most of the people bash Harbor Freight not because it's bad, but because it brakes faster when abused.
Some of them cabinets have counter weights on the bottom to prevent it from tipping forward

The guys at the open top probably saw where you had gotten out all the heavy pipe and left those big heavy boxes out of respect for the obvious giant guy and his hang of helpers who were scrapping. Lol. Also, if you did go to the gym and the trainer told you to flip the tractor tire, you would probably throw it across the gym! 💯🤣🤣

Well one, should know, Harbor Freight ain't going to make nothing that last too long anyway they got to sale more stuff, like everyone else.
With years in road construction, you get to where you can recognize Caterpillar Yellow and that is Caterpillar Yellow.
those hydraulic "yellow gear" fork thingeys, of course they can be scrapped, they're solid, and that's a grease "zerk" fitting, but their value is far greater if sold to right customer: finely custom machined, and you can't scratch or nick in any way the bare metal portion of the tube, which is why i couldn't believe you just tossed them out, at least land them on the bottom yellow feet with the bolt holes.

Saw a Whelen box which make speaker cones for emergency vehicle sirens. Have large magnet on each of them.
