Oh - have you come across the German company Vaude? I bought one of their waterproof jackets recently, with a 'Green Shape' label. They're another one looking to be more eco-friendly with their production and materials.
An interesting review, Abbie. I'd only ever known Hi-Tec for their low-end footwear (think Karrimor) but there appears to be a lot worth considering with these boots. As you also say; I've also found that every pair of boots I've owned has failed in that place where your toes bend. Most recently, my Salomon boots - which remain very comfortable, if now only 90% waterproof. I recently purchased a pair of Berghaus leather boots for a similar price, with a view to keeping dry in wet and wintry walks. Do you wax your boots or treat them with a leather conditioner?
Hi Abbie is there an update for these boots please

Wonder what they are called in the US, as of course they can't have the same name. I am looking at the Soloman boots.
If you go to Abbie's blog page, you'll see my review. In brief: these boots are rubbish, the company was unhelpful. Don't waste your money.
Hi abbie
Hi
four years on how have these boot performed?
Great review. Be interested in seeing how they hold up. Atb.
Not vegan boots then.
Not going anywhere near leather. Technologies moved on. Cruelty needs expelling.
