You were lucky you had a second chance.On first shot the deer almost looked like it was not hit.
The first shot was mortal also, behind the shoulder double lung.
@@alpine.hunter Mortal yes and that actually shows clearly that caliber and bullet are weak for this game at that range. The animal reaction was the same of one hit with a fmj bullet causing a narrow wound channel. You were actually lucky twice because the second shot hit the spine. Otherwise God knows how many shots it would have taken. You have a switch-barrel rifle, I wonder why you don't use this great feature after spending all that money.....

Looks like first shot haunch second shot spine poor shooting
First shot directly behind the shoulder, shot both lungs.
Second shot shoulder, if spine was hit, it would have dropped instantly, not making a couple of steps.
Small cartridge high risk!!!! R8? Cheap made rifle sold for hilarious amount of money!!!!
Shot placement is key, R8 system is top, have owned many rifles before, but this is just exceptional, worth the extra money😎
I think Blaser Is probretly one of the highest-quality rifles out there. From the steel used to the internal mechanical side. It is expensive and I wish the barrels were a bit cheaper. But I don't understand anyone can call it a bad rifle
