I finished Invisalign over a month ago and have been wearing my retainers. When I take them out my front teeth all hit so hard and my molars don't touch. My dentist only cut off my lower bottom last molar from my retainer. Nothing has changed. My jaw is ALWAYS so sore and I hate that I made the decision to straighten my teeth. I miss my comfortable bite. I wish I could go back and never done any of it. Not to mention I now have ugly black triangles. Yeah my teeth are straight, but everything is messed up now.

About option three. Can we just trim the aligner, not putting button on molar, and let posterior teeth settle by themselves?

sure but it doesn't always happen predictably - and you want to recall ever 2-3 weeks to check the bite to make sure it doesn't overcorrect and cause an anterior openbite

.. also from these 3 which do you prefer? The positioner seems the least invasive and easiest?

Positioner works great as long as the patient is willing to use it "actively'" a few hours a day (bite and chew into it). Otherwise it won't work. If I already had paid for invisalign comp comprehensive, might as well do that because it's free

Why do aligners sometimes cause open bite? Is it because they slightly intrude the teeth during the straightening process?

There are many different reasons- here's my playlist on all of that- th-cam.com/users/Straightsmilesolutionsorthosearch?query=invisalign%20posterior%20openbite

I've completed treatment for minor overjet. However all my molars dont touch, instead my front teeth especially the right upper & lower canines are the ones that touch first when I bite. I can chew only with either side of molars by moving my jaw to the side. That makes my front teeth hit hard everytime I eat and contributes to relapse of overjet. For that reason, my teeth always feel sore when I wear retainer at the end of the day. What kind of treatment needed for my case, so that I can suggest to my dentist?

I am not really sure what the problem is but it sounds like you have an interference. It might be able to be fixed by some very limited orthodontics or occlusal equilibration. Just see a few orthodontists in your area so they can diagnose the issue and come up with treatment options.

After completing my invisalign treatment, I did develop a posterior open bite. Elastics were used to minimize the open bite. There's still about 1mm of open bite on my right side around my premolars. I was prescribed the standard Hawley retainer with Adam clasps for my upper teeth for full time wear and had a permanent lingual wire placed on the lower teeth. It has now been 1 month since I've had the Hawley retainer and I haven't noticed the open bite closing completely. I was just given an upper and lower Essix retainer to wear only at night. Will this help close the posterior open bite completely?

No, the essix only holds things as-is. You'll have no changes in an essix. You should consider a circumferential wrap retainer or a positioner. Those would work.

@@Straightsmilesolutions Interesting. My senior colleague with years of experience with Invisalign claims to almost always have POBs self-correct with night-time wear only of Viveras

Very informative thanks. Do you work with anyone in Portland, OR? Do you recommend intruding front teeth for this issue? I'm just realizing I have this problem and my front teeth have been chipping from the load, meanwhile I have molars that are over-erupting.
