Might seem like a little much, but for a universe where stars are usually a good thing (Not counting the Z-Star or The Cobalt Star) The Dark Star is actually a REALLY good villain, at least I always thought so. He doesn't even need to say anything to come off as threatening, or powerful, you just KNOW that's what he is.

Having an all-original theme in an otherwise very familiar feeling remake was quite a trip I gotta say, it made the Dark Star battle feel completely new.
This theme symbolizes the evil that is the Dark Star even better than Antasma’s theme does for him. It creates suspense in a situation that clearly is forming it. If they die the Star could potentially possess Bowser. And if he can’t stop them, along with the Bros., what’s saying anyone else can?

When I heard this in game, it threw me for a loop. I was not expecting it and I love it. Though I wish they kept the cutscene before the battle. They had one in the original but not in the remake, sadly.

I think this music shows the Dark Star’s personality, especially 0:59 The violins make everything more intense, but the way the song hits the player is completely different. If Mario and Luigi fail to defeat the dark star, Bowser will become Dark Bowser, with no normal Bowser to defeat it. Princess Peach either dies or just becomes a slave, while the whole world is taken over by the Dark star. Mario and Luigi have the entire fate of the world in their hands, since Dark Star is going to get stronger. (Cough cough dark bowser cough cough) I wonder why violins make everything intense.

@@pef_v6107 I never liked in the original how inconsistent it was getting excellents on Solo attacks, or how blowing into the mic for Giant Bowser's flame didn't want to work, or how Gauntlet fights didn't give you equipment, or how you could only have one badge effect ready to use at a time, or how the tutorial battle with Bowser took 10 turns, or how the Dark Star and Fawful despite being the game's main antagonists didn't have unique battle music, and more.

There were SOME things I hated though, like how some boss attacks were nerfed to oblivion, and some of the charm being gone (meaning certain voiceclips being absent like the Luigi fake-sick scream). As much as I prefer the original to the remake, the one thing that I know for sure about the latter is that the Dark Star fight was made EXPONENTIALLY better due to this theme. Not that the original was bad, not at all, but the regular boss fight theme just doesn't feel right. Also this theme is so goddamn good holy moly
You know I hear this and I can't help but think how fitting this song could be for some of battles against some of the various bosses in the Realm of Darkness in Kingdom Hearts.
Solo attacks have better timing, Bowser has separate SP restoring items, Gauntlet battles give you equipment, you can refight Giant bosses, you don't need to blow into the mic for fire, there's beans for every stat, and more.
Since Dark Star and Death Star were both taken as menacing names for cataclysmic superweapons, I wonder what unique name would Daron Nefcy have come up with if Star Butterfly had a darker transformation in a parallel universe.
I think they did it because all of the Gauntlet Bosses are fought in what looks like a Boxing Ring, whereas in Dream Team, each boss was refought in their original locations. It's still dumb considering that Antasma X keeps his unique theme though.
All i can hear is the Dread of Night from kingdom hearts dream drop distance in this. Probably would take a lot of effort but would make for a bangin mashup if ever made
I think the only reason people hated the 3DS remake of this game is simply due to how unneeded it was. With Superstar Saga I could get it having a remake because it was for the GBA originally. But you could play the original Bowser's Inside Story on the 3DS anyways so a remake really wasn't needed. Does that mean the remake of the game is bad though. HELL NO! Just because it wasn't necessary doesn't mean this remake should be hated on. There's still quite a few welcome changes to it like an improved side campaign mode that built off Superstar Saga's, no longer needing to use the mic for fire in giant battles, refightable tougher versions of the giant bosses now added, and of course new battle themes for Fawful and the Dark Star to name a few improvements.
If Geno gets in smash I guarantee Nintendo will bring some mario and Luigi tracks with him because square are stingy. Let’s prey he gets in and comes with this song

Kingdom Hearts vibes, I got goosebumps when I heard this track the first time I played this game today.
This music bring murderous dread and monstrous grave, perfect for every dark anime.
