- I'm very happy to announce that I've teamed up with my friends at @StrandbergguitarsOfficial to build my very first signature guitar! It's been a long time in the making but was definitely worth the wait. I couldn't be happier with how it came out. It's everything I could ever hope for in a guitar!
The Boden NX 8 Richard Henshall Edition was designed and spec’d for modern extreme metal and prog players who also require the utmost flexibility and versatility to cover the broadest range of great guitar sounds possible. It's balanced, punchy, and articulate, suited for both rhythm and lead playing but with an emphasis on a broad swath of the midrange. Tonally, the lows are deep and tight but provide a hint of pleasant sag provided by the solid Basswood core. The Maple top and Maple neck + fretboard combo emphasizes the high-mids that cut through the mix while complementing other instruments like the bass and keyboards.

The Cocoon is my favourite album. I keep coming back here on occasion in the hopes that Mu gets released one day :P Any plans?
man I love Haken. lots of my favorite bands are releasing new music this year but i have been waiting desperately since the release of Virus for new music and I'm finally gonna get some. Every band member is unique and you can hear it in their music. And as guitarist I'm just blown away how unique Richard's playing is. The guitar Djents, shreds, all the crazy stuff but still he has his own touch to it. I hate putting the time in learning to shred and learning music theory but Haken really motivates me to do that. One of the few bands that shows how versatile and flexible Metal music is.

Your sense of time and subdivisions is so interesting and unique to your style. Finding (or forcing) certain -tuplets into the rhythmic structure of the piece can sometimes be jarring in its shift but can also be so clever it verges on genius. Look forward to hearing more of your work with this amazing guitar!

Might have been my dream guitar, only one "too many" string for my tastes unfortunately, or I would have really considered breaking the piggy bank for it!

I got into Rich’s work through Haken and then his solo stuff..tasty licks, intricate rhythm patterns, heavy parts and some otherworldly soundscapes all over..mu is an absolute banger..Can’t wait to see haken in Seattle this year!

I just ordered one of these today. It's absolutely, without a doubt, the coolest looking Strandberg. I admittedly hadn't heard of you before I saw this guitar, but I'm glad I did. I'm jamming out to the cocoon for a few days now. Cheers man!

I got into Haken just prior to the release of Virus and you all have easily taken over as my favorite band. Thank you so much for great music you and Charlie have moved to the top of my favorite guitarists as well.
Is this the first signature 8 string?? I mean, I know Petrucci just got his Majesty 8 or whatever but that was just a limited run if i'm not mistaken and not something you can just buy anymore right?? Man i wish i had more time to play enough guitar where I could see this as a potential next instrument for me, maybe once my daughter gets a little older... maybe i can snag a used one in the future.. Beautiful guitar and i'm sure it plays like a dream. Maybe i'll see you play this when you come to the states with SX this year??? Cheers Rich!

@@richardhenshall2185 She is already a big fan of Haken! My wife listens to pop and I listen to prog, rock, metal, anything with guitars in it really, so she's getting quite the spread of sounds from us! She loves plucking the guitar stings when I play so hopefully it will be something we can share as she gets older. Only 18 months old at the moment!

I'm surprised you didnt go for a true temperament neck, i love the sound of this one however. why did you decide on a standard fanned fret neck over the true temperament?

Awesome guitar! You inspired me to get a Boden 8 natural a couple of years ago, and I think I'm gonna go for a Sälen Jazz next. After that, one of these for sure!
