The one song in the whole world that doesn't exist. No recording exists of this song except for what we're listening too which was taken off the movie audio. I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it when I watched the movie and right away began my quest for searching for a recording. It's truly astonishing that in this day and age the 21st century a song can exist, be heard, I know its there and yet it simply does not exist on the entire internet! I finally found out after 11 years of searching that Gordon and the record company got into some kind of disagreement over playing the song during the credits of the movie. So Gordon simply said he would never allow the song to be recorded or performed live. It's true Mr. Lightfoot would have arguments with the record company that caused him to literally drive to the airport, get on a jet and fly to the record companies offices and have big blowouts with the executives. Things were different back in the early 70s as there were so many musicians looking to get deals. It was a fabulous time for the audience tho and that's still true today as this song is still and will always be one of a kind! RIP Gordon🎵
This song caryed me from 2005:when i asked my wife to leave because i needed her most and least was drug indused mess after a major surgery it was by far the worst thing i ever did so wrong and its2024 and were talking of doing it rite now that i know what it meens to be a good husband i abanded all faith because of the ironic now that it eas to fu**king late 4 years to now and its the best time for success and we will live out are days together forever
I watched 'Harry Tracy' in 1984 or '85 and never forgot this song. Even though Gordon's voice was only accompanied by only a piano I still think it's the most beautiful love song I've ever heard. Gordon didn't write the song but he made it his own. He expressed regrets and spoke of repentance during an interview he gave towards the end of his life. My heart goes out to Gordon's family during their time of sorrow. May the good Lord comfort them and give them assurance of seeing him again in heaven.
