Fun facts from one of the original band members: - This was recorded in 1989 by the original Biloxi lineup. Clyde Holly (Lead Vocals & guitar), Jim Toucey (Keys and backing vocals), Levell Price (Bass & backing vocals), Tony Radford (Drums). - Clyde Holly played rhythm guitar on all songs. - Clyde Holly played the guitar solos on songs 1, 2, 3, and 6. - Our buddy, Jerry Campos, played the guitar solos on songs 4 and 5. - Clyde owned many, many Hamer guitars at the time. - Bass player, Levell Price, went on to later play with The Eric Sardinas Band. - Song 3 is actually titled "Livin' Time". I think this got flubbed when the Japanese record label released this old demo as an actual Biloxi album and just guessed at the song titles. - Song 5 is just called "Goodbye Love". Same as above. - This is a 48-track recording done at Chameleon Studios in San Fernando, California. (2) 24-track, 2-inch decks synched together. Yes, this was just a demo. - John Fogerty was recording in the studio next door to us for several months. I fixed one of John's tube amps while we were recording there. - Sheena Easton was auditioning band members for her "Lover in Me" tour in the rehearsal room next door. I ended up running sound for her rehearsals after the Biloxi recording was done. - We had The Cars live audio engineer, Chuck Fetyko, mixing and co-producing. - Drummer, Tony Radford, was using the new Paiste 3000 cymbals at the time. - Jim Toucey was using all Korg Keyboards at the time. These 6 songs are as good as anything I’ve personally heard from the era - jaw-droppingly wonderful Aor - the track “ Listen To Your Heart” is one of MHR/AOR’s best kept secrets - stupendous recordings 😎
Hard to tell what is going on...the mix is compressed till it all sounds mixed together. The singer is awesome. Hard to tell on the other players. Hard to imagine this being 48 tracks and still so squashed sounding. But I can tell that these guys can play.
Hey, it's Jim Toucey from Biloxi (1988-1992). Agreed, this version of our recording sounds like it getting compressed for FM radio broadcast. I have some better versions of these songs and more on my TH-cam page. www.youtube.com/@gwim20/videos.
I have to thank Razorfist for bringing me here
