Jaime's the best, but that bachelor thing makes me want to barf! You couldn't pay me to watch that stuff, instead I watch stuff like Perkins Builder Brothers! ; )
Too bad he is clueless when it comes to painting, just like 90% of the people on youtube. If you see someone using those little trays to paint a house, they don't know how to paint. Its messy it's inconvenient because it holds so little paint and it also tends to dry out faster because it's so shallow.
Also ... as a renovation guy ..... Valspar is the best and thank you Valspar for sponsoring the vid. The only reason the world hasn't burnt yet when I'm trying to paint 2400 sq feet with paint is because Valspar has the best binder and pigment ratio in the world.
I did maintenance for a 16 story office building downtown OKC. Another pro-tip... Write the paint color on the inside of the light switch of each room. That way, if you need to match it, you know what it is. If you have two colors, put it on a power outlet on each wall with the different colors. I also put a dab of each color on the plates. That way, if you need to color match, you can take it with you.
I just love the work you guys do. And the way you do most of it yourself. I think that is so smart. Not everyone sees the wisdom of it, but anyone who's even just had renovations done, sees the advantages of working in one, small team, doing as much as you can yourself and being there. As one who has had renovations done, nothing but nothing is worse than living in a house with a half-finished kitchen watching it sit for weeks because everything is waiting on one of the sub-contractors-- who's off, working on some development.
I think its awesome you are teaching this guy all of these skills. Nothing to be ashamed of we have all been there. What's awesome also is you get moments where he makes mistakes but it can be a teachable moment for your audience also.
My dad was a house and commercial painter.....pro tip that he gave me was always roll with the roller frame oriented to the direction that you are painting. So if rolling left to right than the frame (metal part) should be on the right side of the nap.
As a lifer in the painting industry, I learned that if you cut in “dry to wet” meaning you start your cut where there’s no paint and swipe back into the paint, what will happen is at the end of your swipe you’ll naturally reload your paint brush and you can go way further without using more paint. It also helps prevent a ton of paint build up around important areas like the ceiling. I’ve watched all of your home builds and every time you guys paint you kill it!
Ive been a painting contractor 1st only pour out the backside of your can and save your empty cans and use those as work pots only pour 3 inches of paint into the work pot dip brush into about two inches and tap off each side of your brush inside of your work pot this solves alot of problems for the new person also when they spill there's less to clean up. Really like yalls podcast the best crew on you tube hands down
Really enjoy the videos. Watching everyone at work on this build and now painting gives me the incentive to build something, then seeing Ray kicking back recouping in his wheelchair filming the crew and the idea just goes away. You have a good group of employees, good they can joke around but get serious when it counts. Looking forward to the next build. Cheers.
I wish I could be that kid working for you guys. But I am 36 and live in Connecticut so.... sigh. Cant go back in time! I'll just continue on in IT and live vicariously through you guys :-(
As a guy that works for someone that demands a level 5 finish on all surfaces .... I love seeing how good you all have it. I will never tell my tricks tho ...
When you buy your paint, have Lowe's, HD, etc print extra labels, put in a notebook for owner, and also put a piece of heavy clear packing tape on lid over formula. You can also fasten one of the formula labels inside a switch cover plate in the room the paint was used in. You're welcome.
I have established 1 rule of painting at my house with my wife. She picks the color. I will paint anything once, when it needs it. But I will not re-paint because the color is wrong.
TGIF. It has been a busy day for me today!! I made it!! Friday Night & a new PBB video is a great combination!! Keep up the good guy!! Happy Birthday to Jay too!!
You really can't judge these colours until you see the finished rooms with all the furniture etc... My sisters builders questioned alot of the things she wanted done and her coulor palette 🎨 Once the whole new space was completed with everything they were really surprised 😮
Man, I can't get over how pretty the area is where you guys build all those nice houses. Compared to where I live (the flattest country in the world 😁) it looks so nice!
When I worked as a carpenter, we also painted. We found out that to save time, we would roll the wall first and get a lot closer to the ceiling or corners with our paint. Then cut in with way less paint, and turn around and cut in the second coat. That way on the final roll, you cover all your brush marks...........however, to each there own. As long as it's done right and looks good which you guys always do, and have fun doing it😃
The colors they chose are very interesting. I'm sure it will be a very vibrant home when it is done. I do not consider myself very good at choosing colors. I've had more than one debacle. So now I keep it pretty neutral. Mostly, I hate to have to repaint.
Yeah, that rolling time-lapse was bitchin'! And, there is something very satisfying about pulling blue tape off a roller, AND making it spin with the hose🤩
You have a really good crew, excellent workers, well skilled, and a fun bunch to work with. What more could you want? I'd have you guys to build my new house any day of the week. Mind you, since i'm in the UK, the daily travel would be a problem so I guess we won't bother ! lol!
Don't know if this tip has been said but take a 16p nail or something similar in size, and knock 2 holes in the rim of the paint can (where the lid recesses into) opposite of one another. This way, when you pour or scrape the edge, the paint can run back into the can and not build up on the lip and run down the edge. Also helps prevent the lid from sticking so much when it dries.
have watched pretty mutch every clip so far and can say.. its that kind of work and funtime working enough goofying around friendship and banter that typical for construction but everyone knows its nothing bad behind it and its from the heart. that ever job should have.reasons is clear from it. Ray shows up and hanging around and help out with tiny things. becouse knows that give more then sit around on sofa doing nothing at home.
Just a thought ,on the sanding pad,in order to get built up primer off the pad, maybe you could use another electric sander to scuff them off.just a thought..Still enjoying your series
Pro tip from a union sheetmetal worker: paint all your cans on supply and return registers flat black so when someone looks up or into them they don’t see over spray of paint/primer and gives a more professional and quality finish.
How about a road trip to Canada and take on my project. I have little faith in the contractors I have talked to so far. Near Mt. Tremblant if you need mountains
lol. watching Jamie talk about Bachelor in Paradise with such enthusiasm is great! my wife loves that show.
Jaime's the best, but that bachelor thing makes me want to barf! You couldn't pay me to watch that stuff, instead I watch stuff like Perkins Builder Brothers! ; )
Loved watching you teach Anton. I hope you’re like that with him all the time.

Eric just choreographed my newest dance move. The dip, wipe, dab, swipe. Brilliant.
I think its awesome you are teaching this guy all of these skills. Nothing to be ashamed of we have all been there. What's awesome also is you get moments where he makes mistakes but it can be a teachable moment for your audience also.

YouTUbe doing a great job getting these earlier vids into my feed .... Love how Jay has a subversive sense of humor ... love that genius
I like using a bench rather than a ladder. Saves time climbing up and down.
Right, i only have a couple as of now. I wanna get like ten to have a bench highway lol
Yessir. I too am a bench man. Ladders are for catching the ends of my plank!😆
Jason uses the best $20.00 cut in brush made!!! I use nothing but a 4in Purdy for cut in. He needs a raise!!!
Nice to see house that isn't just white everywhere 👍

Happy Birthday Jason 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈
3:00am Saturday. Good morning from Melbourne Australia
9pm brisbane 1st augest 2024 hello❤😊
I love the colours the homeowners selected. Right level of saturation to contrast the ceiling and floors.
Really like these build videos. Wish they were longer, but I guess that's what works for you. Love the teaching moments with Anton.
Pro tip always back roll when applying your primer as well as your top coat your finished product will be a lot more consistent and uniform.
Ive been a painting contractor 1st only pour out the backside of your can and save your empty cans and use those as work pots only pour 3 inches of paint into the work pot dip brush into about two inches and tap off each side of your brush inside of your work pot this solves alot of problems for the new person also when they spill there's less to clean up. good to see young peolpe want to learn this kind of jobs
As a guy that works for someone that demands a level 5 finish on all surfaces .... I love seeing how good you all have it. I will never tell my tricks tho ...
wooow - 2 videos in 2 days !!! awesome
“Dip, wipe, dab, swipe”…one of the first videos of yours I’ve ever watched. Cool to see how far you guys have come. Proud to be a Perkins sub!
Great video as always. Those are some BOLD colour choices.
When you buy your paint, have Lowe's, HD, etc print extra labels, put in a notebook for owner, and also put a piece of heavy clear packing tape on lid over formula. You can also fasten one of the formula labels inside a switch cover plate in the room the paint was used in. You're welcome.
Those are some good tips
@@JoshuaRes that’s what she said
Also put a label on the bottom of the can. Saran wrap over lid before closing and store upside down. Air can't get in and dry paint!!
I have established 1 rule of painting at my house with my wife. She picks the color. I will paint anything once, when it needs it. But I will not re-paint because the color is wrong.
Ya gotta lay down some laws sometimes.
Dear god, Do not let your wife pick the colors unless you are color blind!
Happy birthday Jason! Stay cool my man!
TGIF. It has been a busy day for me today!! I made it!! Friday Night & a new PBB video is a great combination!! Keep up the good guy!! Happy Birthday to Jay too!!
Lucky kid. Beautiful ❤️
Happy birthday Ellis! Looking good fellas.
Great video.... I hope they like those colors.... they are not my choice but that's the neat thing. We all have our own choices...
Those colors!!
Happy Birthday to Jason and wish and hope LOT of work is coming for all of you
It's great to see you guys passing on the knowledge to the younger generation.
Too bad they are passing on incorrect information.
Happy birthday to my second favorite builder on the show 🥳
You really can't judge these colours until you see the finished rooms with all the furniture etc...

Loved that tool belt with it's Tabasco holder!! Great vid as always.
Pro Tip- backroll primer. it textures the primer and helps hide dif between paper/mud surfaces thru out
A wonderful team

Colorful and thank goodness is only paint and can be changed
Those fuzzies off the roller is a good way to get a light texture on the walls........lol

Good stuff, fellas.
This is how you start the weekend! Cheers boys! And girls!
I used Valspar paint in my house... great paint. 😁👍🏻♥️

Great job fellas as always UK
I thought Erik was a good guy until I saw that UNC shirt. Let’s go Duke!
Eric - "It's really cool Ray shows up even when he's in pain" Ray - "I gots to get paid!"
Pretty sure Insurance is covering his lost wages as he was injured at work
camera man gets paid 3 times the pay of carpenter .. lol
Jay dropping paint can knowledge ... Ray with the next paint can knowledge. The 2nd mouse gets the cheese!
I didnt look through the other comments but you should consider tinting your primer, no extra cost. Keep up the good work and great videos!
We used Carolina coatings and Dupont. Carolina coatings cut be cut in half with water but Dupont could only be cut one third.
My most favorite part of this house the balcony
These guys are SO good at building homes! I'm impressed every video.
feliz cumpleanos, jason.
Pro tip! Get Ray a Gimbal! (phone stabilizer) for recording his time lapses. Although I’m sure you guys have one.

It feels good doesn't it? It's getting a little weird." best quote of the day
That timelapse came out a lot better than I thought it would. I guess Ray will have to bring the wheel chair everyday now
that is one amazing view
Another great video!
Como siempre alucinante el equipo😊la pintura lo elijen los dueños😪ya que el arquitecto te trae un solo color😅para toda la obra
Awesome !

Need a skim coat, the wall will shine rather than being dull with drywall. It also seals the house better.
General question (which was not addressed in the video, btw): How do you remove the dust from the wall?
Good pointers…or pro tips👍 love those colors. Mermaid tale and latte…what was the color Jamie was painting while Ray was filming?
Just a thought ,on the sanding pad,in order to get built up primer off the pad, maybe you could use another electric sander to scuff them off.just a thought..Still enjoying your series

Americans you are blessed!
Amazing series💯💯💯❤❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
Nice 👍👍
I was just going to say write the name under that handle where you are less likely to get drips and then Jason said it. That guy is pretty smart.
What I always do is put the paint colors numbers on the bottom of the jar.
tabasco in the pouch is classic
The owners picked some pretty intense colors for that house.
Aumazhing!
pro tip don roll straight down and up role it on a little angle and overlap sideways, makes it not leave "shades" and its leaves it more even
Teach the kid to hold the brush by the metal ferral when cutting. The handle is for cleaning or for reaching.
Jason gets to sand the piss out of the primer generously as well as paint the piss out of the walls ❤️
Pro tip for you Erik…it’s pronounced al-go-rhythm, not ah-log-o-rhythm 😂😂😂 much love from PA!
Классные чуваки...
I see Jamie is a huge fan of fantasy fiction television. :-P
How about a road trip to Canada and take on my project. I have little faith in the contractors I have talked to so far. Near Mt. Tremblant if you need mountains
Dappy HirthBay NasoJ.
Oh Eric. Did you warn Anton about the Tabasco? oh dear.....(lol)
ANTON!! my guy
Write it on the lid, side and bottom
Ha Perkins Builder's and crew.
Lord have mercy...too many bold colors in one room
12am in Western Australia, so happy I saw the new episode pop up
