VERY RANDOM and I'M VERY BLESSED!!! I discovered Country music as a transplant from NJ to VA as a child... then back to NJ! Here I've remained, but even though I couldn't adapt to country life, I still love the people I met and brought memories with me that helped me into adulthood. I have kids now who only hear their Momma slip into a Southern dialect every so often, but recently took them to SC and we drove through some of my country life... and they are like me- it's nice to visit, we just like being around more people! I listen to a lot of music, all genres. But country is where my heart is and that’s where I feel I have an opinion on what is good. Ever since Country Strong I have followed Garrett Hedlund. To say the least he has been one of the only artists that makes country music that really has the roots of where country music comes from. No talk about beer trucks and bullshit, even tho I listen to those when the mood is right. He honestly is a wonderful artist, actor, and person. My friend, who is a fireman as well, owns a coffee truck. Well they got a contract to be on set of one of Garrett’s movies and when Garrett came for coffee he offered a $20 tip. My friend replied “we have a contract man, we can’t take a tip”. Garrett reached in his wallet and pulled out $100 and threw it in the truck and walked away. That’s a awesome person in my opinion, especially one that is involved in the Hollywood nonsense. Also I have my first child, a daughter, on the way. And his song “day one” brought me to tears. It brought me back to the feel of Alan Jackson on the radio. He truly is talented and it would mean more to me to see him play acoustic live than any other artist. God bless you Garrett keep it up!
