    My friend and I were Jet fans, but we found ourselves at a Giant game towards the end of Handley's tenure. The fans were chanting, "Ray must go!" We were chanting, "Ray must stay!" 😅

      Daniel Kelegian he was better than Shurmur and McAdoo! Ray was a good RB coach

      @@GiantTributes8690 Ray was a good HC. He just made two crucial mistakes. Starting Hos in 91 and bringing on Rod Rust. Veterans cost us a lot of games in the 4th quarter, especially in 1991.

      @@danielkelegian5306 Rod Rust move was a hot disaster. He should have moved Jeff out on day one to a team that was a better fit. Giants O was virtually designed for Phil Simms.

      We are doing tribute videos for every coach and player of the 86 and 90 Giants. While Ray may not have been the best head coach, he was a formidable running backs coach.

    Classy move, Jim. Ray was in over his head and the timing was awful for him. He was a big part of the best years of the Giants one way or the other.

      Thanks. He was a solid position coach. Just not head coach material...doesn’t make him a bad person. He had big shoes to fill. I’ll say this...he was much more of a viable head coach than the previous two Head Coaches the Giants have had prior to the current HC.

      He left football after his second disastrous season as head coach and has never spoken to the media since.

    Awful head coach. Of course who the heck was left after Tom Coughlin, Bill Belichick and Bill Parcells left? One of George Youngs mistakes. He should have hired Ron Erhardt as head coach not Handley.

      @paulmatthews2415 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Belichick left because he wasn’t hired as the head coach. He was an option but Young wasn’t his biggest fan, so he didn’t get the job and went to Cleveland

      @@paulmatthews2415 You are correct. Young didn't think he was head coach material. He was wrong on that one as well. I don't blame Belickick for leavingm. He paid his dues and deserved a head coaching job.
