As a consumer, nothing is more effective than Instagramers to make me want to buy. With time, however, I've realised that every coat is "the one-time investment you need", every pair of boots is "the one you'll wear year after year" and every single jumper is "the softest thing", so I don't feel FOMO anymore. I love to wake up to fashion videos because they are aesthetically pleasing and Josie is my fashion hero, but when I feel like I'm in the Truman Show I take some time off.
Yes, they are all investments for years but after one season they want new coat and boots. Plus who would be willing to wear the same coat for 15 years?
Absolutely love this vlog. It was so interesting and I would love if you talk about retail psychology whenever you go out shopping. It makes the vlog more interesting, we are learning something and it sets your content apart from other vloggers.. a great start to vlogmass!

Jose, i think you really need to stop picking cream tone jumpers .....i feel you have hundreds of jumpers in whie or cream in slightly similar designs....there are so many other colours in the world that will look fab on you ;) try more baby blue , turquaz and green light colours otherwise you risk all your wordrob look as same,

I've had to swear off buying clothes for a while after doing a well overdue closet clean out ( my friends had threatened they'd leave me hogtied and gagged in the next room if I didn't co-operate ! ). Most of the clothes that were kept were only a couple of years old at the most so I won't need anything new for some time :)

I think an interesting topic would be how influencers get you to shop more. How they show their lifestyle, what they disclose vs don't disclose, the rate at which they discuss new products, etc. It seems that influencer culture is more impactful nowadays on people's purchasing decisions, as opposed to the old school brick and mortar methods of persuading buyers. I wonder if there are courses now on the psychological methods used in editing, color selection, and language used by influencers. Just a thought.

Great information, Josie, and certainly along the lines of what I learned during my retail days. I actually had the opportunity to experiment with merchandising (especially clothing) early on and learnt a lot about retail psychology. Promoting and selling entire outfits tends to reduce returns, aside from the obvious of increasing sales. Displaying complete outfits gives the customer more confidence about their personal taste along with their purchases.
I work in retail and the feeling guilty for unfolding stuff thing must just not apply to the people who come to my mall lol! I'm convinced that customers destroy our tables without an ounce of guilt haha
When it's folded too neat I'm literally afraid of touching and ruining it and so I won't try and buy it :o

Josie I was very interested in Glossier I liked that the people behind it really knew what they were talking about. So i sent some pic of my bare face so they could recomend some products for me. My eye area is my concern and if there products were suitable for my age group. They were so quick to respond and did recomend products. !! What a service . ! So going to order from them now. They did say they have a return policy if I am not happy with my products. Now that seems AMAZING maybe its only in the US I didn't say where I was from. So anyway thanks for telling us about them.
