In today's video, I take you along with me as I pull weeds to prepare for putting in more native plants this spring, and I show a sneak peek of the new edge lines and new garden beds my husband helped me create! I am very excited for spring. How excited are you?
    Thanks for watching!

I feel ya man for me it is himalayan blackberry, english ivy and clematis vitalba. I had some blackberry that I'd pulled up in the fall survive a cold snap down into the teens while it was just sitting on the ground. If I hadn't remembered to toss it in the bin it would have just re-rooted and started growing again. In the summer I just put them in the sun and they do die, but man if there is any water around they just keep living, it's awful 😞. I've had to resort to some herbicides, especially around my house foundation and fences because it was impossible to dig them up.

Oh yes. I have lots of blackberry, too. Just pulled a bunch of it up recently. I hate all the concrete I have when it's summer time, because that driveway gets so hot, but it's great for killing that kind of thing. The invasive plants can't root on it, and the sun and heat just bake them. It's the bright side of having all this concrete around me. I get english ivy in my backyard, too. I just pulled some last week. Ugh! It's never ending, but we just gotta keep on going. Gotta keep the invasive plants at bay as much as possible, so the native plants and the wildlife have a chance. Don't feel bad about using herbicides in moderation. It can be necessary sometimes. I had to use it on some huge privets. I did the cut stump method and brushed on the herbicide, so it would affect as little of the surroundings as possible. As for fences and such, I'm right there with you. It's a huge challenge dealing with the area under a fence. I haven't used herbicides there yet, but probably will have to do spot treatments at some point. Unfortunately, I have to have a fence where I live. Lots of dogs get loose in this neighborhood and run around all over. I actually need to add some more fence panels. Weeding around fences is very annoying...no doubt about that.

Funny, I'm actually working on the same thing today. As well as killing more of a lawn for new garden beds.
I'm glad I subscribed to you! I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos!!

Thank you so much for watching and for leaving that kind comment! Yes, I can't help it, I am working out in the garden and pulling out the invasive stuff so I can have more room for my new plants I've been growing from seed. Hopefully I'll have a seedling video out soon...might be a few weeks.
