    I am adopted to a white family. Although I have no known family in Kenscoff Haiti, I am trying very hard to learn my culture foods and history. I have decided to learn creole right now and French later as that is my original language!! Thank you for these videos! Helping me learn a lot!

    Your method is amazing and a true help...... My siblings and I weren't told we were Haitian until we were in our early twenties and it came from me searching our family tree. So we never learned the language as children because my family thought we'd be better off believing we were full on American and would not have any issues in life. They were shocked to learn that this upset my siblings and cousins and we have fought to learn more about our heritage ever since to teach our own children.

      Yes but as our bullshit American president says we are a shit hole and Haitians take up space it's just upsets me when people talk down to us like we are kids we can deal with our own problems and we are proud!! 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹

      Awesome 👌 👏 👍 ❤🎉 It is always good to know our roots. Just like if we know that we are created in the images of The Almighty God, the one and only true God who is indeed, the Creator and owner of the heavens and the earth, more of us will be more humble, grateful and kind.

    This is exactly what I needed. My boyfriend is Haitian and I have been working hard to learn Kreyòl as I hope to marry into his family, but it’s been hard to learn just through listening and programs like Duolingo because when I learned Spanish in school, I was used to seeing the grammar mapped out just like this. This will help me tremendously.

      Like you, I am finding this method if teaching Haitian Creole very helpful because the structure is very much like how I learned Spanish in school. I am very grateful to Professor Gertrude. Please her personality and pronunciation are just outstanding, I believe 🎉❤

    Hi there P4H!
    Thank you for these amazingly informative & easy methods of learning Kreyol. I’m Cuban-American from Miami. I lived in Little Haiti for 5 yrs - never learned the language. Moved to California & then came back Home during the pandemic... now I work in Little Haiti. I’m here daily & the Haitian community is very friendly so I want to connect with them. Their culture is intertwined with Cuban culture - so this makes sense. 😊 Also, my grandfather told me before he passed that his uncle had business in the Cuba, USA & Haiti so he spoke the three languages Español, English & Kreyol. I want to learn the language because this is the third most used language in Miami, apart from being inspired by my ancestor. I have a goal of being a polyglot. 😂 After I’m able to master conversations & writing in Kreyol... next on the list is French, Portuguese & Italian. By 35 hopefully, I will have good use of those 6 languages.
    Again thank you for your videos. Your mission is so beautiful.
    Peace, Love & God bless you! 🙏🏽 AG

    I am born in Louisiana and is of Creole descent. Sadly I’m born when English became the primary language and I had to learn it even though my mother’s parents and uncles spoke Creole I was not able to learn it. My father’s parents spoke Cajun-French and so I was really confused when hearing the same words in a strange language lol! I do speak Spanish and a few words of other foreign languages but I want to be fluent in my native language

    Mwen renmen videyo'w yo, wi. Fanmi'm soti nan Domnik ak yo pale kreyol antillias la, oubyen nou rele'l patois, swa oswa. Patois menm jan an kreyol ayisyen men avè kèk diferans yo. Egzanp, nou itiliz "zòt" pou pliryèl an "ou" olye pou "nou". "Nou" pou nou se menm bagay kom ap di "we" nan lang angle.
    English: I love your videos. My family is from Dominica and they speak antillian creole there, or we call it patois, either or. Patois is similar to haitian creole but with some differences. For example, we use "zòt" for the plural of "you" instead of "nou". "Nou" for us is the same thing as saying "we" in english.

    • @KunoichiL3e
      @KunoichiL3e 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also we use different tense markers. Like "ap" in haitian creole for us is "ka". So we say "mwen ka manje" for "I'm eating" instead of "mwen ap manje". But I know for haitian people that means "I can eat" or "can i eat" so it can get confusing at times lol. Or the way we signify so.ething is plural. Haitian creole uses "yo" AFTER the word, we use "se" BEFORE it. Ex: the apples would be "se pòm" for us, but "pòm yo" for haitian people. I just love seeing the differences and similarities in our languages, honestly.
