Never seen the fellow playing clarinet sit in with TS before nor have I ever seen a clarinet quite like the one he's playing and I might add, he plays it extremely well!
On a hot day you need a hot performance... and with our beloved Tuba Skinny band... you always get just that!... Hail the Kings of New Orleans Jazz!❤️❤️❤️
Superb. If that was the final tune of the day, the players showed no signs of fatigue, 'weary' or not. Very much enjoyed the smiles from the group and obvious enjoyment from the audience, too. Thanks for posting this.
@@uwesattler116 Found the version. Not to my taste because I was a Colyer and Barber fan in those far off days and two clarinets is one too many I think. Too frantic.
Gotta say more ... they are tight, hot and happy here, anything but 'weary'. Shaye spots a fellow coming and Erica calls out with a big smile; they are tickled pink by the subtle sensuous dance by the passing gentleman, Robin tips his hat to him ... No wonder there are 20,000 views in ten days ...........
I can almost taste the barbecued shrimp, beignets and cafe au lait! Love New Orleans! I just discovered you guys on Facebook about a week ago. I have not been back to the Big Easy since the early 1990s when I was there on Annual Training, rehearsing and concertizing with the 156th Army Band (LAARNG) from Bossier City, LA. Keep on playing!
Stunning hot jazz, terrific video (thanks Randy) .. from Wikipedia - ""Weary Blues" is a 1915 tune by Artie Matthews. Despite the name, the form is a multi-strain ragtime rather than a conventional blues. (At the time it was published, many hot or raggy numbers were published with the word "Blues" in the title). It is often known by the alternative title "Shake It and Break It," especially when played by New Orleans jazz bands. The first jazz recording of the number was made by Yellow Nunez with the Louisiana Five in 1919. "
Blows you away! Fantastic clarinet by guest musician James Evans, but the whole band is smilin' and rockin', and the street action is wonderful! No, it doesn't get any better than this!
The team work is extraordinary!!! All are great musicians. Most of them are multi instrumental players and many of them are composed lovely tunes. Tuba Skinny are the best.
It's a Clariphone/Saxonette, as Tim Harding pointed out earlier. Clive Evans ( the clarinet player here) was well known in the U.K for playing this instrument, it was more or less his trade mark. The Saxonette is a sorprano clarinet, that can be C, A or Bb
I had never heard of a saxonette before you posted, Tim Harding. But I have since looked it up in wikipaedia, and I don't think this is a saxonette. Apparently some clarinets with raised bell ends were made years ago, including some by Buescher in 1913.
This instrument is arguably a clumpet which is a hybrid of a clarinet and an ear trumpet. It was invented in the late nineteenth century in London by a deaf Chinese musician.
Thank you, Randy. Interesting to compare this with the video you made in 2013 of James Evans playing this tune with Tuba Skinny when he had just emigrated from the U.K. The band has evolved a little since then: th-cam.com/video/x4EawdDWF3M/w-d-xo.html
A Street that has Tuba Skinny on it... is the happiest street! 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
Love the old gent doing a gentle shuffle dance! That's about all I can manage these days...

Cool when Robin covered his heart with his hat as the dancer left.
Hey ,clarinet man👍Love TS
Never saw a kind of clarinet like this. Compliments for the sound of this clarinettist.

Thats what you call professional
S10m0t10n..this is how TRUE professional musicians perform
Awesome solo by Robin here. Seems like he was having loads of fun at it.
Best darn dixie group I ever heard. Greetings from the south of France.
Enjoyed the small talk before, the fun tune, and the natural, unforced smiles all around. Thanks TS and RaoulDuke504!
Harry Miley А мне нравятся улыбки Шае и Эрики.Открыл для себя этот ансамбль не более, чем погода назад и восхищению нет предела.
Weary Blues....Unbridled Joy 😉
The girls and boys sound as good as ever. Way to go, Tuba Skinny!
Brilliant. A great performance of a great jazz classic.
Simply the best ever
Does it get any better than this !! Great !
Foot tapping, rollickin' good fun for all music lovers. especially loved the natural rhythm of the washboard guy - outstanding!

I can't wait to get back to 'the spotted cat'
-for the music ya, the music
This is the best Weary Blues I have ever heard and I have heard many. The visuals are great too. Thanks again RaoulDuke504.
Yes, great swinging number. But have a look at California Feetwarmers. Only two banjos!
@@cvtsboy Any band that includes Chloe Feoranzo is better than average but I stand by my original comment.
rhumbarber
Look for the version by The Dutch Swing College Band with two dueling clarinets from the late 1950s/ early 1960$.

I totally agree with you. 🙂 TS are the best.
I like this music
I'd like a glass of whatever Robin was drinking! - and it's good to see Jason back;

Had everyone stamping their feet(except Jason)!
Not a good idea when you are balancing a heavy six string banjo on your lap that has a life of it's own!
Joyeux de chez Joyeux ! Merci !!!
It is always amazing
Love this band so much
I live Tuba Skinny
Different clarinet and he’s good!
Love the Alphonse Picou style clarinet!

YAY! NEW VIDEO! THANK YOU!
...one of 'life's eternal questions' : .. where do the chairs come from? ..... 🤔
I've never seen a clarinet with that upturned piece at the end . Is that an add on ?
It's a Clariphone/Saxonette, as Tim Harding pointed out earlier.
Clive Evans ( the clarinet player here) was well known in the U.K for playing this instrument, it was more or less his trade mark. The Saxonette is a sorprano clarinet, that can be C, A or Bb
Forgot to add, Clive also plays a very nice Peter Eaton clarinet, sadly not in production at this moment in time.
Is that James Evans on Clarinet?
Are there lyrics to this song?. I was imagining how Erika and Greg could do a great job on them.
БОЙКО идет торговля дисками :))
Where do you guys perform

Is this real, or are you kidding us? It seems to be entering realms of fantasy!

To my ears, they have all increased their skill and subtlety. James Evans is terrific, but they all are!
Don't know....but I star get in love with Erika...I'll been watching her...shikita
Erika knocks me out
yes, but Shaye sends me out of the ring altogether.
Hermosas y virtuosas las dos.
