How wonderful to hear this song in the open air, and compare it with the same song sung two days previously at the Philadelphia Unemployment Project. Obviously the acoustics are very different, but the way the band play the song and the way Erika sings it are very much the same in both locations.
It was a harkening back to their busker roots I think, feel wise. The kids and dogs running around all lent themselves to what was more of a gathering I would say. Seeing the band all socializing with friends and family before and in between sets almost made me (and I guess everyone else) feel like we were part of it all.
I was in Craryville for this event and Little Coquette was played at my request. Thanks again for a great overall performance by a gracious and unpretentious band at a gracious and unpretentious venue. 🎺♥🙏
Thanks to the band and to the diner and to everyone who had the good luck to be there and make it a great crowd. PLEASE come back again. The Taconic parkway area is just plain lovely.
This is one of the prettiest songs ever to me and you guys really did it as usual!!! And all the little kids running around in the background added a niece touch.
Coquette, aka 'Little Coquette', has been covered by many artists - Nat King Cole, Django Reinhardt, Fats Domino, the Ink Spots ...... Tell me, why you keep fooling, little coquette, Making fun of the one that loves you Breaking hearts you are ruling, little coquette, True hearts tenderly dreaming of you. Some day you'll fall in love like I fell in love with you. And the one that you love might just be fooling you too. And when you are alone with all your regrets, You know, little coquette, I love you.
By mistake my Playback speed was set at 0.75. But the effect/result was, I thought, perfect. I caught on when I saw the children in the background running and I thought "that's the slowest running that I've ever seen!"
Where is the tuba? the only thing I saw was a sousaphone. The Main Differences Between Tubas and Sousaphones are: Shape At first glance, tubas tend to look smaller than their sousaphone counterparts. Both instruments are actually constructed using the same length of tubing.
Tunes played by jazz bands are not "covers." They are interpretations. "Covers" is a term from pop music and rock, where the object is a close copy of the original..
And again the musical magic of Tuba Skinny. Erika +++, Tuba Skinny +++.
Tuba Skinny making elegant, beautiful music in a lovely setting. It is as though they were playing classical music. I was in the audience.
It was a such a nice homie feeling setting, wasn't it? :)

Is that a plectrum banjo
I agree! I did not really know the song beforehand but now love it!
Whoooo, some really nice solos here
I love the children in the background. What a great concert.
Wonderful performance. Sounds amazing 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The volume of the banjo is perfect. The sound of what I'm guessing is a tenor banjo, is played as it should in this context.

He sometimes plays a tuba. Sometimes the Sousaphone which may be easier to play while standing.
Todd got the nickname early on, when I believe he always played a tuba.

Thanks, I did not know/realize that.
painful to watch ~ someone could have at least helped the old man in the blue jacket and ball cap a chair
Unless you were there, I don't see how you know that he needed or wanted one.
An oasis in this hastle and bustle today they call music
SHAYE COHN! MARAVILHOSA!❤❤❤❤❤❤
