33:38 I remember, reading or hearing recently that they found a mummified triceratops that’s skin imprint looked like it had quills or at least holes for the quills to come out of which is really cool. I hope someday we get proof that they had quills cause that’s awesome.
Something that I realized about Cera is that she only has her nose horn and not her brow horns yet. even though in real life, it was the exact opposite
When they were originally discovered, large herds of bison still lived in Colorado, I like to think that that could’ve helped influence some of the early behavioral theories, like the encirclement defense
35:10 A triceratops appeared when Spear was kidnapped by the giant bats and brought to the giant spider's cave. He ripped off one of its brow horns and impaled the giant spider with it.
Finally interpretation of triceratops with Chomp (Gabu) Maximus Prehistoric planet one and When Dinosaurs roamed america one also ever design saurian prehistoric kingdom and the isle
Triceratops is an absolute classic in the dino world. Ask anyone to name a dinosaur, it'll be one of the three most popular guesses. Right up there with T. rex and Velociraptor.
The interpretation of the prehistoric planet’s triceratops is the best one out of all of the movie or tv show designs because they are so accurate to the real animal 100% I love it and congratulations for 20,000 subscribers
Dinosaur Revolutions is even more accurate and with interesting speculation such as the keratinous frill and quills. It's not shrink-wrapped either. That is just the parts of the face where there are scales instead of keratin. It doesn't look actually sunken. Plus, plenty of tough large animals like it have some hip bones poking out somewhat. It's bulk is more conservative than shrink-wrapped. Also, Prehistoric Planet takes place 66 million years ago, and the triceratops is obviously T. horridus. Horridus lived before 66 Mya. The species here should be Prorosus(I forget how to spell it). So, that's inaccurate. It's skull also looks a little too fat for the animal, too. It needs to be just slightly thinner.
@@william3100 yeah I get what you mean but to me I absolutely love there depiction of triceratops horridus it feels like that I would see it in real life and it’s accurate to our understanding of the animal I especially loved the old bull triceratops in season 2 with its really long horns and how big it is it was so awesome how it fights the younger bull male!!
Ayyy the Dinobot Slag mentioned! Also I wanna mention that Agathaumas will be added to Path of Titans as a mod and it looks very cool! Done by the Absentia team
12:31 It was also the only dinosaur the cast actually "saw" when principal photography was shot in Kauai, Hawaii. The animatronic T. rex shown in the film was shot in California.
For the video games video, Zoo Tycoon 1 has "two" Triceratops! The first one, which was much larger and more red, was an easter egg animal present in the original Zoo Tycoon release. The second one, slightly smaller with a slight brown mixed in, is from the Dinosaur Digs expansion and was the final release of the Triceratops. Though you could still use the exhibit code, Cretaceous Corral, to unlock it I believe. In Zoo Tycoon 2, the only difference between the Dino Danger Pack paid DLC versus the final expansion Extinct Animals was the color of the babies, which were a nice blue in DDP. Prehistoric Kingdom has seen a total of *four* different versions of T. horridus dating all the way back to 2014. Anything from the initial Early Access trailer (the same one with Stegosaurus) is from an older build of the game where a lot of those models were redone. Most of the marketing material from the game also dates back to this scrapped build, hence the wiki being loaded with older pictures of animals that aren't in the game as of yet (namely the Stego who is the only one from that trailer not released.)
Two others in media I can think of is, Teen Titans, Beats Boy turn into one during a football game they had. And the ones in the Magic School Bus. You could have mentioned the now outdated theory about Triceratops circling around juveniles to protect them from predators like elephants. (The magic school bus shown that) though now I know its not likely that happened.
Great job covering the famous three-horn, and congrats again on reaching 20,000 subscribers. Also regarding "Primal," there was a proper Triceratops, albeit a dead one, that appeared in the episode with the giant spider and bats. Spear the caveman even used one of its horns to battle said spider.
also, in Gigantosaurus, there is a young triceratops called tiny and she’s got these big eyes and like she doesn’t have a baby corn, but she doesn’t have two eyebrow horns and she just looks really cute. Tiny is like my favourite tiny is like my favourite design from the Gigantosaurus TV show just because of how cute she is.
6:26 im so glad he covered slag (brits stfu idk if its a swear for u) Also could you ever do a vid for all the dinobots and their accuracy to their respective dinosaurs? If u do please include all the iterations you can find and also add dinobot and megatron from Beast Wars
What I really like about the Prehistoric Planet models is that it combines essentially the things I like most about the Dino Dana and Dinosaur Revolution versions coincidentally based on images shown here. It has the head coloration kind of like Dino Revolution, (with the horn colors matching with the frill which makes it look more like the carotene layer over it is present and it makes sense the horns could add to display if they were colored as well), and the proportions look like Dino Dana, where its bulky but accurate. Its not stubby. Its just proportionately hefty.
awesome seeing 1 of my many faves getting a video, great work here think you missed like 2 power ranger ones, but who cares Dino thunder was the peak, it was all down hill form there, think there was a pink 1 and yet another blue one cool seeing Agathaumis getting a mention, such a classic design, still looks cool today, even it is a retrosaur who might not even exist only brave statements here, no one has the guts to admit JP1 is a good film, it's such a shame that the jurassic films hardly used Triceratops, like legit what did it actually DO? sit there dying in JP1 and stand there in a field in JW1, such a poorly used animal in those films and finally, Maximus, the other Triceratops in Dinosaur King
When you start doing "The Many Interpretations of Triceratops in Videogames" - I recommend checking out JP: Warpath, JP: Trespasser, JPOG, Jurassic: The Hunted, Turok: Evolution, Zoo Tycoon 1 and 2. I was going to mention Hammer from the movie, Prehysteria, but he was a Chasmosaurus. 😅
I would like to mention the triceratops from "The life of Triceratops", a documentary that is available on TH-cam. In my opinion, one of the best designs of this dinosaur ever made.
Genshin has some interesting creature designs and some look like they were inspired by prehistoric animals but I think they're too stylised to get in the video
Because Triceratops is quite similar to a rhinoceros, I wouldn't be surprised of they were solitary. They are quite big and might not have needed to travel in herds.
It also seems plausible for at least the males to live alone, because T. rex hunted them, and there just wouldn't really be a way for a T. rex to get one if a whole heard stood its ground against it.
Dinosaur Revolution definitely has the best color scheme imo. I like that the horns are the same colors that bleed out as the brighter color on the frill. Body-wise and proportions, I go with Prehistoric Planet. If PP had the colored head of Dinosaur Revolution, that would be my favorite look.
Hello Dino Guy you should really check out the triceratops modeled and animated by Lucas Mateus, this trike appeared in a brazilian production focusing on the animal called the life of Triceratops by ABC Terra, i was fortunate enough to work as the sound designer for the short film
