I saw this interview when I was 16. I was an MTV-obsessed teenager, and I loved 120 Minutes. Matt Pinfield was super smart and like a walking music encyclopedia. This is also around the time I discovered Placebo. I had never heard of them until seeing the Pure Morning video on MTV, which they played constantly. Great band. Great interview. And I love Brian's tight black sateen pants and leather shoes. He looks amazing here, but it's nice to know that he's now moved on to a healthier and happier place than the state he was in here.
Placebo are such a great and inspired band but the way they lately got into makes me feel less proud and keen than formerly; that's because their method tremendously changed and the last album proved to be aloof from that rush of emotions we were all addicted to. After being inside the rock scene for so long it comes out inexorable to feel a new vibe and to look for some new perspectives; sadly the keenest fans might disdain an album but an artist should try not to scare them off! I guess you know what I mean!
Hello I really appreciate this video you shared, could I transcript it and translate it to Chinese and share with fans in China? I will note the credit :) thanks
I frowned so much when he said. "We're never letting him leave."
This is from back when mtv was a real channel about music and not only about bad teen soap operas.

This is a very good interview indeed ... strange to listen Brian talking about S.Hewitt now when we now that he isn't with them any more.
