I'm from concrete wa, and I live to fish. 2023 humpie season was the best, and coho will branch off from their school and travel with pinks. Every fish I catch I talk to them and thank them for the fight, energy, and spirit they share. Live to fish.
That line from "I heard the Owl Call My Name" when Mark is watching the returning salmon and recalls the Kwakwaka'wakw prayer to salmon. "Come, Swimmer, I am glad to be alive now that you come to this good place where we can play together..."
It must really be nice to have all the species of salmon you have. We have Coho and thats all. And i think due that, you don't see anyone mistreat a salmon. Which im pretty proud of. Ohio has a much shorter season so i imagine that has a lot to do with how ethically they are treated. Your Dad taught you well. Thats noticeable in all of your video's. Im really impressed with each of them. Thanks Linda.
Never knew about the hump they develop on their back or the deterioration of their slime coat, the lack of a slime coat is pretty much a death sentence on its own as far as I know. T'is a cool video~ Also it blows my mind that someone would kick a fish back into the water for whatever reason @_@
The spawned out salmon at the river I fish always swim by me, a few feet from the bank, very slow and casual. Sometimes they stop and stare at me. Hoping to bring in a few fall nooks tomorrow morning. Cool vids btw. I never knew they can grow humps on their back.
One time I casted and the pink didn’t even let my weight hit the bottom my line just started going up river I was like wth and set the hook beautiful on the top beak 🎣
Walking past Dead salmon on the bank is quite possibly the most happy thing to experience if you think about it. This symbolizes the completion of the individuals journey, and the success of the species as a whole that year.
Welllll I look at it a little differently.....you live your whole life waiting to get laid then it finally happens..Yaaayyyy...then you die ..DOHHH@@Spenker

Excellent video 👏 well done😊, very thoughtful
Nice to see a fishing video that is NOT AN AD FOR FISHING GEAR. Hello Rod, aka BNR bead boy.
There's an audience for everything. 😎

Nice filmed and narrated... I still feel sad though walking among a bunch of dead salmon...but that is just me

Have you ever tried crossing a fish with a reptile to make a salmon-der?
Now that I'm done watching, what a great message to the video. Respect the salmon for sure!
H2O would be proud
