- This place was amazing! Honestly, this explore probably gave us a bit of everything. It was steeped in history, a beautiful building with lots inside to see including a clock tower. But what happened at the end was pretty much what rounded off this amazing explore.

This place was amazing lovely architecture and views from tower was brilliant can you imagine when it was a private mansion.
Don't think they needed such a massive police attendance well over the top would like to know why ?

Been thinking of going there for a while. Now you have said there is a reason for so many police turning up, we're going to have to go just to find out why :-)

Ha! Went on a training course in that concrete building next to the lake 20 years ago, never noticed this building behind it!
At 37 minutes he officially arrested you for civil trespass which is not a criminal offence. Under the laws of detainment I’m pretty sure they have no right to cuff you until they arrest you too! Should have got their badge numbers mate they didn’t treat you properly.. good explore though 😍
Sue them for maltreatment, document the case would be my advice
Cuffs can be used without arrest. Perfectly lawful.
Perfectly entitled to put you in cuffs regardless of arrest, for their safety and yours. Don't know how you can say they didnt treat you right? Given they don't have a clue who you are or what you are doing, or if you have weapons etc, they were actually straight, clear, polite.

Lol yes they do. It is a shame cause pretty sure we missed a fair bit of the staff quarters etc. too. Oh well. As u said all good things come to and end 🤣

I did a course there in the late 90’s when it was a hotel and conference centre, it was a beautiful house and gardens back then so sad to see it decaying like it is in places. Hope you didn’t go for a swim in the lake...
Lol no funnily enough a swim late at night didn't really cross our minds 🤣 it is an absolute shame to see the state it is in now because it should be saved and used for something rather then it just sitting there.

1805 Book: "I think that could be an original...." It's all pretty original!! Shame you didn't just get permission and come and make a proper film - You caught so many lovely shots, and the manors sad state is an ongoing weep for the village.
It is a shame that it's left like that cause it should be being maintained and looked after for sure. If we were allowed permission to film a proper documentary on the place I would love to do that.

Lol unfortunately it's a hazard of the hobby so we get used to dealing with police, however this was one of the more extreme occasions

The dates in the books are when it was first put into print, not necessarily the copy you are looking at
The library has books dating back way older - They are all original :)

@@cpfudeak No - All manuscripts, first editions and primarily highly valuable texts in the house were long removed for storage, before it was even a hotel. But the dates on the books you looked at - Are indeed original.
I think if you had left in day light hours you wouldn’t have been caught. I expect they saw your lights.
Probably true however we got there pretty much just before sunset so I doubt we could have got round much of the place before it went dark. Oh well it was fun for 3 hours while it lasted lol

Why was it the Mod Police that turned up and not the civilian police? seems like a very odd thing for the mod to send their police to a suspected break in of an abandoned hotel.
