I fully support you on that 4mm Bit holder! I wrote themabout it and they had one example of it lying on a shelf and sent it to me. I love that tool! The Wiha 4mm holders are also quite good.
Not sure if anyone will read this but the Wera 822 micro bit holder is available nowadays in the Wacken set 1 and also the 2020 Easter Egg set (still available online)
The Wiha 3K line was fantastic...really well priced, durable, and among my favorite handles. I ran into issues trying to pick up some Torx drivers as well as the bit holder. I have a few that are supposedly coming late April (see also about 5-6 weeks past when I placed the order), but wish I could have picked up complete sets. Last summer I got several 3K Anti-Cam Out drivers that were on clearance for dirt cheap...guess that was the leading edge of the change. They definitely need to reinstate the 3K line into production. Imo they fit a nice niche with the quality and price point.
In my honest opinion the 4 mm drive is far better in the ifixit set. 60+ driver tips and an aluminium handle with a bearing cap, I've never used anything that is more comfortable, with a set more comprehensible than that. I still have individual Wera drivers with non-interchangeable tips but whenever I need a full set, I go for the ifixit one.
The Wera 4mm bit driver was a bit of a oddball thing anyway since their micro bit drivers all use halfmoon and HIOS drives as far as i know. I looked for a 4mm bitset last year just to have one in my bag for just in case and ended up with the Wiha Xiaomi bitset cause i didnt want to commit to those halfmoon/hios bits.
Hi, you think you'll ever review CK tools products sometime? It's a German tool company really popular amongst Electricians and HVAC technicians in the UK for Sidecutters, pliers, screwdrivers etc. I dare even say it's a more popular than Knipex and Klein in the UK, yet I don't think the brand seems that popular in North America, as I can't find many reviews on their products on TH-cam. If you can get the chance to check them out it'd cool to hear your opinion on them.
CK had a small following here in the electronics sector because the Schmitz pliers they resell are excellent. But, I haven’t really come across them in years. I have CK branded sidecutters and I have no idea how I obtained them.
If you are looking for more of those Were L-key pouches, I've got 2 that I'm not using. Thought I'd like the pouches over the regular holders, but I like the holders more. Shipping might be a few bucks from Canada, but if you want them, we could work out a deal haha
Hate it when companies change or discontinue a great product. It happens all the time. A little off topic but IKEA used to sell large, aluminium picture frameswith real glass for £20 GBP here. Now they've stopped using glass and started using acrylic glass. Just not the same. I know it's from a safety aspect, but cmon. Trying to find anything similar elsewhere costs around double the price.
I bought my 3K metric hex driver set a few years back. I've been using these alongside some Bondhus metric drivers bought a few years earlier to the Wihas. I mostly use 3mm and 2.5mm. The Wiha drivers have already started to wear and slip (even inside new hex screw heads). Meanwhile, the Bondhus drivers have not worn. Again these are used side by side, so there's no preference. I'm sticking with Bondhus. I don't plan on buying any Wiha drivers in the future.
That Wera bit holder is something I've been desiring for a while. KCTool told me that Wera discontinued it. I think it might be very similar to this Beta holder: www.beta-tools.com/en/products/electronics-and-micromechanics/precision-screwdrivers/4-mm-bit-holder-with-handle.html I have ordered one of those but it's taking a while to get here over the pond. I also have the Wiha microbit master tech set and the bit holders included with those nice bits are just not up to snuff. They are ok...but it's clear the Wera (and hopefully) the Beta are much better.
I didnt realize Wera had microbits. Im happy with the Wiha sets I own though. As far as the 3k series i never bought any of those. I thought they were not as good of quality as the soft or micro finish line but am basing it on price only. Are the steels comparable.

Yes, Wera really did sponsor the legendary Wacken OA heavy metal festival.
Which is oddly fitting.

This was the predecessor of the soft finish screwdriver...We still have some of these here & there in stores...
I LOVED the 3K handles.

Curtis @ KC Tool hooked me up with his last 2 back in Feb. Love those pouches

ever look at the Wiha Xiaomi collaboration precision screwdriver set? I think that one has a whole range of 4mm bits
The 3K stock i still see for sale in the UK is over-priced now , sold the few i had , wiha drivers i now have are the newer pattern :)

What about tools that should be discontinued but are still in production?
I vote for the Knipex Raptor.
Faceplam
The only thing I’ve found the raptor good for is smaller EMT electrical compression fittings. Try to like them, but really their useless 😕
And on second place, all the failed versions of the cobras
@@VictorGarciaR I like all my Cobras. Which ones don't you like?
@@Российскийбот-ы3у The ones made by other manufacturers trying to copy the design/function, and failing at it
The flat Wera 4mm bits break really easy. That could be their reason for discontinuing the product.
I agree. All my 4mm bits I have used are now broken or meeeeh.
The Wiha 3K line has been discontinued. I'm 100% certain because we're Wiha distributor in Thailand.

3K is discontinued in EU already.
Please do a tool box tour thank South Africa

Question: do Wera or Wiha make bits for line head screws? I’m in need of a way to drive 3.8 and 4.5mm line head security screws..
Tryed to source an empty pouch for my metric hex-plus set but not available in UK :(
The Wera L keys empty pouch is currently available from Chad's Toolbox:
chadstoolbox.com/wera-empty-pouch-671063/
At least this channel is not discontinued 😂
I think Aldi sell a copy under the Workzone brand
is WILL pliers a German tool? because I have some with made in Germany on it.....can you make a review on it
Isn't the Wera 1013 Kraftform Micro Bit Holder (#05051276001) the one from the advent calendar set?
Mouser has the Wiha 3K drivers still too: www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Wiha/45504?qs=5jTmMtIf96mK4qI0NFONMw%3D%3D
sad I love their tools
Should rename the channel to the WW Channel for Wiha and Wera ^^
Why do you wish they would come back? You already have them and How you use them you will never wear them out..
I hate buying cheap Chinese tools
