      Hi, not related but I was wondering if you have tried to use old tape answering machines? I guess you would have to hack them somehow.. Maybe I should ask Look Mum No Computers instead?

    Oh my. I think my mind was read during the creation of this product, finally something new I can get truly excited about. I've started piecing together CGS modules to make a serge system similar to the likes of the la bestia II, but hopefully with a more 258 like dual oscillator if I can find a kit that I like. I would imagine the two systems together would be quite the experimental playground. Thank you for turning me on to the world of banana cable based synthesizers. Phenomenal video as always.

    I'd love to see how it plays with Serge gear. Loved seeing it with the CL stuff. Well done.

    I was sceptical for the comparison with the 303 (mainly because there is no accent) but I must admitt this is by far the most liquid synth I ever heard ; thank you so much for the great demo (and for the 606 jam, which was awesome !)
    Cheers from france

    This is certainly the most organic-sounding acid machine, i`ve ever heard. And the way, it sequences. Hopefully getting to tweak it myself soon (as you said: the entry drug to banana world...). It`s also similar (sound weis) to Softpop from Bastl Instruments, but still sounds a little warmer, crunchier and messier. The character of that sound... Something so appealing about it. I´ve already had a lot of good use to your patreons soundpack of it :) Thank you for uploading!
    Best Wishes

    Ok Hainbach! I was casually eating my lunch enjoying your video jamming to the cool grooves being pumped out by the Liquid Foam. I start to take a drink of water and who should appear on my tablet screen at the same time you mention "no pulse width modulation", Nick Batt! I LOL'd, spitting out the water mid-drink! Not sure how I'm going to explain the water stains on my pants and shirt to my colleague's ... Anyway, as always, a wonderful review and cool synth!

    What a great machine, hopefully there will be some nice tracks released with this in it. Also, the 'acid' sounds are great, sometimes the 303-clones are tiring, to be honest. There should be more boxes that can create some nice liquid bass lines with out trying to be a 303.

  • @UncleBenjs
    @UncleBenjs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Ohhhhh, that is nice. You're really tempting me to get one of these, yet it wouldn't fit into my current set up, so I would need to get an entirely separate set up around it.. .I'm just trying to finish my current set up.. which is already well beyond my budget. Stop tempting me with these beautiful pieces! LOL

    "How does the sequencer work?"

    God, I love banana gear! You don't get this weird shit in eurorack...

    • @wellurban
      @wellurban 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yes, I love this weirdness! Though in Euro, that’s part of the workings behind the Turing Machine, Noisering etc, directly accessible in a Xaoc Drezno...and can be achieved with any 3-channel mixer. However, having this as the only sequencing method for a groove box is bold indeed!

    Nice 1 fella, great content. If I might make a suggestion - the synth itself has very rich harmonic content, so when you paired it with the drum machine I woulda preferred clean and dry drum sounds and not saturated/over driven ones. Just my 2 cent's worth, but I think that would better show of the synth.

  • @extralifedisco

    I imagine the clock input is minijack because it's a conditioned trigger input... Inter-patching devices with banana jacks is generally not a good design because they're single-conductor connections, meaning you can only carry a single voltage rather than a voltage and a ground. This is fine within a device b/c all the inputs all share the same ground, but if one device is running on an AC adapter and the other on batteries or another PSU then you've got a floating ground level and could create unpredictable problems on both devices... noise, static discharge, ground loops, RF pickup, etc. Same reason the breadboard-style patch connectors are uncommon (though that seems to be changing).

    Sounds very nice and the seq is very intuitive, but I wonder why there is no pitch out but only gate outs, I would be willing to use the full power of the sequencer for external gear, or am I wrong? It could be very nice to pair this together with a Lorre Mill double knot for the perfect groove!

    That part when you're explaining the oscillators and you mention that there's no PWM and Nick's smile turns into a frown got me good! :D Very helpful demo. It looks pretty intuitive after you get used to the UI. "Idea machine" -- I like that term, that definitely ups the desirability quotient for me. I recently received a Benjolin from Macumbista and, while it is a fairly simple device, I already can tell that it's going to be a box that I can turn on, wiggle some knobs and lose hours. Have ever had a chance to play one of those? Thoughts?

    super cool. no offense to the guy though, and i know it's probably the last thing on the list of important stuff when you're making something like this. but a bit of care with the fit and finish goes further than you might think ( like with the glue and the over tightened screws and stuff) when you're trying to sell something at that kind of price point. but the thing is rad, don't get me wrong.

    • @Hainbach
      @Hainbach  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree, that is why I had to point that out. I remember buying a Leploop and one knob would always get stuck on screw. That was constantly annoying. Here the whole operating part, knobs and jacks are of high standard and a joy to use.
