    I'd avoid spacers all together and get the right offset wheels for the look you want. You're just adding another point for a failure running spacers. Love the build can't wait to see it finished!

      @exia989 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      A good quality spacer isn't as sketchy as it used to be. Provided you get a hub centric one, shouldn't be an issue. There really isn't a better way to increase the width on the rear other than getting an entirely new housing... not to mention its really annoying having different offset wheels front and rear

      The best think to do is get a new rear axle that matches the front

    I have the same dirt king alignment cams on my 07 Avalanche, basically the same front suspension, and had it aligned at a shop. I have a regular 7.5 inch spacer lift that pushed the front end out about 2 inches each side, and they were still able to get it aligned. They did tell me they had to fight with them the whole way but they got it eventually. Putting in the stock cams would definitely help. As far as rear end goes, possibly invest in a longer aftermarket axle housing; probably a ford 9 inch style. Lots of performance companies make 9 inch housings in multiple lengths that can use OEM components such as the brakes and WSS's. You can also easily change the gear ratio in a 9 inch housing with its third member style diff housing. If you're going to use the truck as a prerunner, it is much safer to do the longer axle route than use spacers.

    love how the 07 is turning out. Id personally keep it the dark blue and throw on a nice chase rack (armordillow, ADD, etc...) to really add a sporty finishing touch

    Perhaps a wider rear axle. Like an HD axle from a Silverado 2500 or 3500 spacers can get a bit sketchy.

    Stance on your truck looks great. I’ve been running 2” spacers on multiple trucks for years. You install them right and use high quality parts you won’t have a problem. 3” spacers seems a bit much but they make them so they must stand by them. If you have any doubts about them whistlin diesel sure gives spacers a good test run lol.

    Ran 3 inch bora spacers on the back of my 09 2500HD and towed with it regularly with no problems at all. I only trust bora with 2 and 3 inch spacers. Bunch of guys run 2 inch spacers all the way around and run their trucks at lone star off road park and never had one snap either.

    Have 1.5" spacers on stock 20" Trail Boss rims with 275/65r20 for last 2 years with no issues. Narrow is better for wear, may drop to 1.25" when I go 295/65r20 next time. Heavier tires cause more wear as well.

    Against the spacers, but don’t hate the look (for now). Everyone will change their tune when the fenders, wheels (different offset will change it a bunch), and 37’s are on!
    I agree with above comments about axel housings/full axel builds. Summit or Currie rear ends would be a great start!! Big fan of this build bud!

  • @bradleystewart8690

    Maybe look into having a 14 bolt widened and new lug stud holes drilled in axle to achieve the width you are looking for stronger axle and will hold up better than spacers or wheel offset

    Go to an alignment shop that does big rigs or buses. Most car/truck shops won’t aligned it cause of the extra labor that’s involved, get ready to pay a premium price for it also. I pay close to $500 in California, it’s a little less in Vegas where I live now.

    Stay with the 2" spacers and you'll be good. Lots of people run spacers in the prerunner world. It will look good with the fiberglass fenders. People say to get the right offset wheels but you should stick to 0 offset to avoid any leverage on the front hubs especially with bigger tires. The rear can handle spacers, I have been running 2" spacers(hubcentric) and so has my dad. Nice video!

    I would definitely avoid 3 inch spacers and live with it also you can level the suspension but all the prerunner guys have there truck squat a little bit for better landings when jumping also fun fact the Carolina squat originated from prerunners I'm not a fan of that by any means but this has a purpose and a place for squating

  • @colbyembree3883
    @colbyembree3883 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do not get any bigger spacers, what you need is to put the fiberglass on. I know you got some for the front, but you’ll need them for the rear. That way the whole truck looks wider not just the wheels and tires and then it won’t be as noticeable. Building a prerunner ain’t cheap. Been there done that and I ended up just selling it lol.

    Stick to 2" spacers. I've ran them on the rear of my long travel silverado for years with no issues. I know people that have had issues with 3" spacers. Also, you'll be surprised how close your tires get to your fiberglass bedsides when you do them and run 37s. Mine are 4.5" bulge bedsides and they rub a little bit at full bump.

    Hub centric is the most overrated myth there ever was! If you’ve got conical shaped lug nuts the hub doesn’t matter. Hub centric only matters on larger vehicles that have flat faced rims and they do that for strength. The rims center on the lug nuts not the hubs.

    I’m so confused with what your doing your rim setup is not meant for off roading should be running like 16” rims with as much tire as possible. Second the look without spacers is normal run a better rim or get over the look adding a spacer is straight stupid
