That’s all about the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and the Global Agreement on Trades and Tariffs (GATT). The purpose of both agreements is to keep resources circulating around the world. Canada sells its lumber to the US and other Nations, the US and other Nations sell their lumber to Canada. From my view, it’s not the best way to do things, because each country has different environmental and economic standards, making the trades unfair for the people on the ground such as you and me.
