I have had a Cholesteatoma and two Mastoidectomy. My son had a polyp in his ear at 9 years old . At 12 year had a Cholesteatoma 2nd operation. At 18 another operation In the Attic of the ear. 21 years another operation it came back. Today at 30 years old back to the doctors, pain in ear, dizzy and a twitch on cheek muscle of face and he tells me more hearing loss. Therefore another referral to the hospital. Genetic from me. I think from my mAternal side of family. Other members different problems with ears.

need complete removal as treatment. If not it can cause serious complications

It is better to select ent specialist from your nearby area and consult. If needed take a second opinion. If you text your home town ,I will try to contact an ent surgeon there

My mother 57 yrs old diagnosis with cholesteatoma, i am confuse where to do the surgery. One 30yrs exp doctor in ent clinic asked 50k package. Appolo asking 1.20lakh. why so much difference which one to go for, is there any specific advance process available or how much Chance of malignancy when there is no pain and discomfort as such. 2 to 3 month back there were some bleeding and got ctscan done form there we got know. Pls reply urgently if possible

Cholesteatoma is locally eroding mass. So it is better to do surgery at the earliest.
