James i think the clue is in the filename. It is a Fly6; ie a camera in a taillight. I think it is still flashing and the red light is randomly reflected by some ofthe hail.
What are those things that look like flying sparks or burning cinders? Is it an artifact of the camera, or were the hailstones striking sparks off the pavement, or what?
Honestly next time just take shelter, if you're going more than a few km's you're unlikely to outrun a severe thunderstorm on a bike lol Its hard enough to stay ahead of them in a car sometimes as they can move at up to 70 KM/H
Majestic Skies This storm caught everyone by surprise. There was no warnings on the radio and to me it just looked like heavy rain approaching. I was stuck on the pacific motorway when the traffic suddenly stopped and my car had three grands worth of damage.
no, tornados are very rare, they have happened before but only a couple of times and they were more like funnel clouds and less like a full blown tornado. cyclones and supercells are common in summer.
Checkout the dude with the bike and backpack, why wouldn't he drape the backpack over the bike and pull i closer to his legs and at least try and get a little more protection?
Never heard of Brisbane before, then I started looking up heavy rain lol

1.30 - hope that hail didnt hurt. Going faster than a Brett Lee zinger!!
Well...SOME shelter is better than none at all, under such circumstances...

I was just reading that Brisbane has had a lot of severe weather events and hail is common. Do you have tornadoes too?
