    what ? I don't remember having dancing lessons back in 1978.. you just enjoyed the music and danced you're heart out.. no 1234 science there, just go to a nighter, feel the music and do what come's naturally..

      Hey Jon, your a lucky bugger to have been present like my older brother was. Because it was an emerging culture, essentially you learned from each other at the time. Otherwise we would have none of the established moves today. If you did more than two stepping around a handbag, you had hundreds of teachers :) KTF

      Gaz Kishere yeah, good point, we all just copied each other on the floor. You saw some good moves and by the next saturday you’d already mastered them :)

    Don't get count 123 when its 4/4 timing and your not pausing and using a beat to keep time, watching you, your out of time, sorry...

      @gazkishere4921  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bold Controlroom you are both right and wrong. What I am doing here is not 4/4. Look at the technical vid it’s called busy feet. It’s so you can add an extra element of movement between the normal plonking foot down on a beat. It’s my own thing, not for everyone. I find it boring to simply replicate like it’s a religion :)

      @@gazkishere4921 being a dance teacher, it may help to explain this in your vids, I.e. count 1 is, count 2 is, count 3 is and so on...or at least keep with that time..

      Bold Controlroom thanks good advice. Hearing you say teacher makes me smile. I was sat in an Athens bar, the owner was playing northern and was so excited I knew the tunes. He insisted we did a night. I said I’d see if I could get a teacher over from uk, as people have to dance. In Greece unlike our idea of them dancing all the time, they go out to talk, Dj’s are background, I play up to 6 hrs with. Room full of people chatting. Nobody would come to Greece so I said shit, ok I’ll do it. 30 people showed up. In between lessons I’d look at you tube or think about breaking down my existing moves to teach. The vids were for those guys to practice in between. Awesome first gig. But essentially teacher no, have a go merchant willing to look a dick to get non dancing Greeks to dance not chat ... yes :)

      @@gazkishere4921 hey man, never a dick, and I'd never call you that, you can move it, being a teacher and going to the casino and Blackpool mecca in the day, are two different things, it's funny how today's NS, is all about moves and interpretation, yet back then, it was raw, very little technique, most people couldn't spin and most only step tapped the night away with a bit of foot swivel, straining ankles and knees before they changed to leather soled shoes..
