This should become a bunny youtube trend. Often time youtube bunnies look like absolute angels so it'd be nice to get that little reality check

Thank you so much for showing chew marks around your house! We own 2 buns , they are free roam. I wanted to know how your bun never seems to chew anything 🤣 Thank you for showing the chews! I noticed your molding isn’t chewed??? How do you keep her from chewing that? Molding is like a candy bar to mine, we have clear packing tape on all our molding and that helps 100%. Boba and Mochi also seem to know my Husband phone cords and they get them 😂 he gets so mad. Thanks again for the awesome video.

Tape. Clear duct tape or boxing tape.
Most rabbits don't like the smell, glue, and texture of the tape.

Oh gosh this is so relatable! My bunny named Mouse has chewed so many things... I guess he is what you'd call a restricted free roamer! He had chewed carpet, fabric couches, skirting boards and door frames, any chair and table legs he can find, baskets,,, house plants... and he used to (but no longer) chew cables. He once managed to squeeze behind a couch to find a bare cable that was connected to power and on. Little bun got a bit of a shock but he was fine! these rabbits have guts of steel I tell you!

And here I thought she was perfect. Luna will be glad that she is not that bad of a bun. I have 2 Lion. The male is a perfect gentleman but my lovely female Luna is a chewaholic. She was free roam most of the house but I have given up and both are confined to their bedroom. I don't have the $ to repair and replace, furniture, walls, cords (protected), blankets, hay holders, did I mention CORDS!!!! It's a shame the little boy gets punished too but he adores her and will only be where she is. BTW your shed....lol you should see mine. Love you Cinnabun.

Hi. I have my male bunny who has chewed and destroyed all my baseboards! We had no choice but to replace them BUT our solution was PVC baseboards and door frames which was a complete game changer. No wood so no interest to chew! Wall corners we bought some hard plastic wall corner covers. Cord covers have been chewed but we strategically placed all cords behind square panels and furniture so no access. He has chewed through many wires so we learned our lesson the hard way. And carpets well we have none except for a couple of flat carpets with no strings to be chewed. And areas where we can’t avoid we use packing tape to cover furniture feet for example. I have even used socks over chair feet lol. Baskets were also chewed and rep, aced by fabric woven baskets or wire baskets. Baby gate is plastic as well so no interest there either. He is very destructive if we don’t take these precautions. Our female doesn’t chew on anything thank goodness. The one thing our male Rabbit Kiwi has never chewed is a sofa or chair. No fabrics except for the wood under couch. Hope this is helpful. Cinnamon is a cutie. I love my free roam bunnies but they are destructive little creatures 🐰❤️

My Clover is all about that carpet digging. I keep a bunch of woven grass mats on hand and whenever I catch her I stick one over the problem spot. Sometimes it’s enough to distract her and she loses interest. If it’s a chronic spot I leave a mat there full time for her to demolish. It’s a bit messy but I’ll take some grass clean up over carpet destruction.

I really appreciate the reality and "struggles" of having a bunny, it's often so simple to jus depict the aesthethic side. So when others share struggles that I have had experienced myself, it makes me feel better that I'm not alone with these rabbit struggles.

Love the hair color, very beautiful! I have two buns, one loves plastic cord protectors, the other loves carpet! Also, because there are two, (I think this is the reason) i can't seem to get a real bond with either. Before they were "fixed" they both let me pet and love them. Since their bonding, I'm just the feeder. Partly because I try to sit on the floor like you suggested, letting them come to me. They will just get to the friendly stage when I have to snag one up to groom. Then the other and that sets us all back. I'm hopeful, though it is disappointing.

Ohhhh I so feel your pain! Lol. I have a Holland Lop and those cord protectors are nothing for him. I finally had to move to a mesh product his teeth finally cant get through. I have 2 spots in my house that Paisley wants to eat carpet. we put a floor tile down on top of it and that has helped immensely. Cords are a constant problem for us including our Temperpedic Bed! Everything underneath it is alllll cords. It became a game for him, lol. I finally had to buy grids and staple gun them to the inside of a wood panel frame that surrounds it. Gotta love them

Mine chewed through cord protectors that were near their normal hang out spot until I added more toys and things to distract them! They were also terrors for carpet in my last apartment (I literally super glued single fibers back down to get my deposit back)

A new video to show how to repair any damage. I have 2 bunnies that both chew rugs, wall corners, molding, sofas, bedding, and wooden furniture. So far I’ve been able to fix walls and molding and placed the corner guards where the buns go. Any fabric with holes I’m working on sewing or patching. Tape sometimes works but buns also figured out they can chew through it. I am also overwhelmed lately, just last night I found a hole in the sofa. I am super happy I came across this it helps me to relate! I’m thinking spring has something to do with the destruction as this was not a huge issue before, digging is kind of like a seasonal thing? Just thought I’d throw that out there.

Our bunny likes to dig a lot! She is a pure digger. That's why we have a digging box with hygienic sandbox sand, and we have two other spots where she can dig, one is with the cat pillow and old pillow case, the other is a cheap fleece blanket that is under our sofa. Sometimes she would also dig and then pluck parts of the carpet, but we firmly let her know not to do it by stomping, just like she would stomp at us when angry lol. So maybe if you have an old pillow case, you can put it in that corner to avert from the carpet.
Her second biggest thing is biting the babygate. I am still figuring out what to use on that, for now I have transparent tape, but she still bites it - on everything else that the tape is on, she leaves it alone, but not the gate 😅. How do you scold Cinnabun? 😊

Good luck. We've been trying to stop the carpet chewing for awhile now. And our house had become a chew toy also. We mainly keep our bunnies in 2 rooms, but it's plenty of space for them. They still try and get a taste of carpet when they can.

Noah the free roamer has made Swiss cheese out of his custom made floor length curtains and his $750 sisal rug. I’ll just replace them eventually. He has tons of chew toys, fresh blueberry branches, a futon, stairs that lead up to a window seat, etc. but he is the most destructive house rabbit I’ve ever had, but he is loved :)

I adopted my bun when he was about a year old, so I didn't have to go through the baby-chewing-stage. He's an extremely good bun. I blocked my bookshelves with a layer of cardboard, and he hasn't touched that. My cords are protected with this really thick plastic electrical tubing, and he hasn't nibbled those yet. My walls, baseboards, and furniture hasn't been chewed at all. I've only had him since December, so I anticipate chewing eventually, but so far so good!

Bunnies dig to hid or for fun or for filing their nails.
I have a pot about 30 inches in diameter and 1 feet deep for my 2B to dig.
And when I leave them out in the yard, they are able to dig an about 2 feet deep and 2 yard long tunnel in 6 hours or less.

from Oxbow and the hard hay or corn husk chew balls. The best gates are the baby gates with the metal mesh on it.

What you do is you cut cardboard into like the size of the corner and then you stick it there for then they can get to it I've had many experiences with that cuz my bunny does it to our fireplace actually and put in cardboard there is really helpful and we also Stick it to the wall sometimes if we need

I have a weird case, my rabbit does not chew a lot of things. No furniture (at least no solid wood furniture), no sofa, no walls. He only likes to destroy carpets. He may chew wicker, but I don't have any wicker furniture, only pure wicker toys for him, so that's not a problem. The thing is, he gets a lot of wild tree branches to chew (I check if the tree is safe, and has no parasites and no pesticides). His favourites are branches of apple trees. He always eats all of them, leaving only a skinny light stick from the inside.

Could give her a dig box.something that allows her to do that behaviour but safely. I mean the last time I talked to someone about carpet digging they basically said that certain types of carpet can feel nice to dig in. I also found out that rabbit needed a nail trim too. I was able to make a dig box with crinkle paper, like the stuff people but in easter baskets. Just filled it up and stuck treats init and it doubled as a foraging toy.

Omg this was uploaded as I was having a headache with my bun. He is free roam of course (except the bedroom) and I keep up with him as much as possible but unfortunately I have a 3 yr old and sometimes he leaves stuff on the floor thats chewable. He rarely gets to chrw stuff cause ive gotten good at making sure the floors are clear but every now and again I cant have eyes everywhere all the time. 5 mins ago he chewed a big portion of a sucktion plate. So now im on lookout. I personally dont mind the chewing i just hate that whatever he chews could kill him..😭 He also loves to poop in my sons room so often now its getting to be a problem. Today I added hay to a already established litter box in his room to see if maybe that changes things. I always put the poop in the litterbox right after but hes still doing it 😩😩

My son is a musician, Daisy's chewed her way through massively expensive chords in the past, also chewed a recliner chair so badly I had to throw it away, she's chewed laptop cables, mobile cables, the cable to my back massager and umpteen blankets. So my son became an electrician and we now have box cable protectors attached to the wall throughout our house. She's 9 years old now and stopped chewing anything she shouldn't even since her recent dental.

XX My bun Miffy likes to chew cords and I have a chair in the main room he stays in and he like to chew the wooden legs of that and he chews my wallpaper too😅 Carpet is really hard but you could try putting a cloth there in the area to block it off or if there is a fragrance a bunny doesn't like you could try applying some spray or oil there of that odor to it? Or maybe there are some edge protectors you could put there to block it off? Hope this helps😄

My bunny jack chews everything, his favorite is carpet, but he chews through just about everything. Cords, baskets, yarn, we gave him a Little box of old junk mail so he can take his little tantrums out on it. We have taped off the carpet edges as much as possible. But he won't stop. He's chewed through a dresser. Like actually made a hole through the bottom of it so he can hide in the drawers. He's my little menace baby.

I love that video and i can relate, my bun is free to roam almsot the entire appartment and he knows he's the king xD all my beddings became art pieces, he's creating whenever he feels like (sometimes i discover a hole when im going to bed and my feet get throug a hole haha , also for the past 11 years (my bun is a very active 11 years old bun!) i bought headphones multiple times cause i'm very forgetful and tend to leave them on my bed lol
My walls and room door, my previous sofa, he couldn't go under so he destroyed it, now i replaced it with one on feet and it's safe for now.
He's sleeping in my room so all the rugs i change to have holes in it but it's okay XD
    Also some chairs.
Since i got him i grow to like metal furnitures or bunny proof furnitures xD
I love him and he wouldnt be him if he wasnt naughty though

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you a 1000 times thank you! I wish I could like this video 1 million times! Seriously, Morgan! I really appreciate this. I sincerely wish that more bunny owners would share videos like this because I think it’s extremely important! I definitely have all of these problems with my two bonded rescue rabbits and it is so comforting to know others go through this as well.
We use both types of the cord protectors you mentioned… And then we have also put cubed C and C grids around all outlets… It probably would not look very good in your house but we like it because it looks kind of industrial. You can actually use this cubes like little tables… i’m sure you could even find a way to hide the cubes by putting some sort of decorative tablecloth or cardboard in front of the grids (I’m working on this as a project right now)… Although… Obviously… That may get chewed as well…😂.
The carpet issue is an entirely different matter and a totally relatable and totally frustrating thing! We also plan on removing the rest of the carpet in our house, but the main bunny room still has carpet and they love to dig at it… ugh! So, our local rabbit rescue volunteers suggested buying unbound carpet to put over the regular carpet. It needs to be replaced every few months (they will likely, eventually dig at it, apparently), but it’s only $20 (at Home Depot or $30 on Amazon…it comes in a big roll…you can pick the size) We have just using started this. So far so good. 🤞🤞
I have also meticulously placed shipping tape over every carpet corner (and baseboard) and I also *highly* recommend buying inexpensive tiles from Home Depot and placing them over the areas of rugs or carpets where bunnies tend to dig… Which, for me, are especially in corners and along the walls. The buns actually love flopping on the tile pieces (they’re about 12-14 inches squared) and they’re heavy enough that the tiles don’t get moved. AND they look quite nice 👍 Our tiles match the carpet color 😉
Thank you so much, again, for this video! Please keep content like this coming! You are adorable and your bunny is adorable but I really appreciate these realistic videos and I especially think people that don’t live with bunnies yet need to know about all of this!!!
    Thank you!

Thanks for showing the realistic side of having a rabbit. My free roam rabbit destroyed our couch after only having it for a few months, so goodbye thousands of dollars. The new one we covered with a similar cover and he doesn't show it much interest. Of course countless chargers, controllers, headphones etc. We've learned with time how to better bunny proof. Also, chewed a hole into the gate.

My Eden is a carpet destroyer. There are bald spots all around the room, piles of yarn where she has pulled it out. I’m going to have to pay the complex to replace it when I move out for sure…

This is why you keep them in a cage and then keep them in a playpen to play.

Great video my bun when he was a baby lived in our house and in the evening he could go into every room but we noticed he chewed lots of cords and my parents weren’t happy so he now lives in our shed that has rooms he lives in half a room and the other half is his playtime area I also bring him to our kitchen in the evening to play sometimes too he does live alone as I had a friend for him but I couldn’t afford two buns but I was thinking of giving him away to someone who has another bun but I love so I don’t know what to do

I need to protect my baseboards. Luckily that's pretty much all my bunny chews, I did find one cable she bit, and a few pieces of clothing (I think she is trying to groom me?). Other than that not too much terror...

OMG the carpet is the problem for us our bun bun Minni has torn up the carpet in the play room and I have gotten rugs to keep her from doing that but she would go through the rug to get to the carpet. Any ideas will help out to keep her from doing that.

Adding some tiles or heavy objects on the corners of carpet would help. I actually had to create a big playpen to keep my bun in while I'm out or asleep. Which breaks my heart. My bun has always had free roam of the apartment. But the apartment is so small. My kitchen and bedroom have no doors on them. Any baby gate I've used is being jumped or chewed through. And recently my bun has been having accidents (pee!) in all the rooms other than the living room. Yes hes neudared. I just think its too much space for him. So untill we have a new place with a bun room he has to have a pen/safe space to stay :(

The next step, which i took long ago, is just using a soldiering iron to repair charging cables. If it wasn't for that and my bf knowing how to use it, I would have had to replace soooo many cables

Marshal gets annoyed and will chew doors. If it's open and he wants it closed, or vise versa, he will chew at the bottom of the door. As well as my computer chair. I am currently on chair cover #6.
