@@Scottishparkruns Quite unusual for Scotland, given most councils here couldn't organise the proverbial knees up in the proverbial brewery. I consider myself fortunate to live in West Lothian.
Haha, well spotted Mark! Kenny was busy chatting to some folk when we were doing the closing vlog, and I didn’t want to interrupt him. Don’t worry, we all went to the cafe afterwards 😃 Enjoy your parkrun tomorrow! Which one are you going to?
awesome, gee you'd have to watch your footing around them bends. love how in the UK you have some many volunteers. down here in Australia we struggle at some of our parkrun's.
Thanks Ted! The corners weren’t actually too bad - they’d been well gritted. That’s a shame to hear some of your events struggle. Although to be fair that sometimes happens here as well. I’d love to come to Australia one day, and of course do a parkrun or two whilst there!!
Great video. Interesting to hear about the park design - need more like that. I sometimes wonder if anyone has ever tried to get a Kelvingrove parkrun started - feels like a good location for it.
Thanks David! I was speaking to event team afterwards, and I found out half the park is still under construction. Once it’s completed in around 12-18 months, the route will change to a single 5k lap. I’ll definitely be back when that happens! Not sure about Kelvingrove - I’ve never heard it mentioned as a possible location before. Would likely rival Queen’s for hills!
Thanks Dannii 😊 I’ve been using the DJI Mini 2 for the last 2 years. It’s an excellent wee drone, and because it’s under 250g, you can fly it almost anywhere. I believe there’s new versions out now - the Mini 3 and Mini 3 Pro.
It's a difficult question to answer, as "hardest" can be subjective. If you use age grades as the measure, the following would be the top 10 (hardest first): 1. Lanark Moor 2. Drumchapel 3. Faskally 4. Ayr 5. Tollcross 6. Queens 7. Plean 8. Crathes 9. Palacerigg 10. Fort William You can find this, and more stats, on www.scottishparkruns.co.uk/stats/lists
To an extent, yes. Although age grade attempts to level the field by taking age and gender into account, so is a better metric than just pure finish times.
Excellent video Douglas, there aren't many councils in Scotland that design a new park with a parkrun in mind, well done to West Lothian Council
Thanks Alan! Yeah, I thought that was excellent 😃

Great Video. I'm heading to Auldcathie tomorrow 😊
Awesome, I hope you enjoy it 😃
18 minutes is an amazing time. Jen has beat me a good few times at strathclyde park parkrun too 🤣 love it!
Aye she’s pretty quick!!
Jen scanned my barcode at Palacerigg parkrun on 24th December
Is there nothing she can’t do?!
Wonder if she could pace me to a sub 21 on Saturday. 🤣
You started with four but finished with three in your team. Great video as always. Looking forward to my Parkrun tomorrow now.

@@Scottishparkruns probably Chipping Sodbury. Three laps and flat with about 250 people.
Cool, hope you had a good run!

Often watch these when I need some motivation. Great happy presentations without the high tech🙂
Thanks Stephen 😊
Can I ask what drone you use, please?
Fab video again aswell
