Keep in mind that if you are working on your personal vehicle and don't care about cracking nor breaking tabs then go at it. He's doing it the way the book says. You do it however works for you. Cheers!!

No need to remove all bumper to take off the headlights, just pull the upper midle side of the bumper and the headlights will get out.
