    It really sounds like the theme of Twin Peaks composed by Badalamenti sometimes. It is certainly nature that links these two works. As well as storytelling perhaps.

      I have copies of all of those albums, except for "Compositions for Magnetic Tape." That LP is incredibly rare and expensive, I passed up a couple of opportunities to buy it, and now regret it. I do know someone who does have a copy and they may share it - though it will likely take some time for their rip to filter out to youtube/the wider world.

      Hope you're enjoying the channel :) This channel was started to share albums (primarily ambient and new age, but sometimes other genres) that can't be found elsewhere online. Meaning they aren't available on streaming platforms, P2P sharing platforms, torrent tracking sites, blogs, etc.; hence why you can't find any of it on Spotify.

    • @should_be_asleep

      The genre is ambient/new age. I'll refrain from answering your first question :)

      @@should_be_asleep haha, i dint mean it in a rude way - i personally love it. I just dont understand how it developed, because only from japanese artists i hear this kind of imagination-producing ambient music... So i dont know if they have a tradition of doing this kind of music or something else is the reason for it being so ancient and magical-sounding

    • @should_be_asleep
      @should_be_asleep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ajmosutra7667 Wonderful, I admit I first took it as a negative question.
      I guess this album could be further categorised as kankyō ongaku (which translates to environmental music). You might've heard of the kankyō ongaku compilation that was released in 2019 by record label Light in the Attic? If not, it is absolutely worth checking out if you enjoy the music on this channel. The liner notes for that compilation also go into more detail about how 'this kind of music' originated, if you're interested.
      In short, this kind of music arose from a movement starting in the late 70s/early 80s with Japanese electronic/ambient music composers who were initially influenced by Erik Satie. Hence the prevalence of Japanese artists. Though, there is some western ambient/new age that you could probably consider to be kankyō ongaku too (K. Leimer's Music for Land and Water, maybe?).
