There should be a poster of Freya smiling, because it would just make everyone who sees it smile. Hmmm...it would be good for CDLS awareness. Of course ALL your children are special !!!
Freya is such a cutie pie! It was amazing to see her standing! She rocked it! Thanks for sharing! I agree about the disabled placard, thanks for bringing awareness that some people DO need to be kinder and not judge. There are many people that do have invisible illnesses.
I totally agree... I am disabled and have the Parking Placard... I have it for many years.. I have Fibromyalgia and a rare type of arthritis and because it doesn't show on the outside I have been criticized by people and I really don't understand because it is not easy getting one of those placards. People can not only be rude but down right ugly... Oh well some things never change... I can't say enough about how much I love that Freya... And your family is also just great..❤❤❤
@@lindareiswig4436 I completely understand what you mean because I too have Fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis which causes pain all over as you know but can’t be seen by just looking at me.People can be down right mean and blatantly rude:/ They can’t see the all over pain that we deal with on a daily basis and then the excruciating pain of a Fibromyalgia flare up coupled with the arthritis pain:/ We “appear” normal looking and don’t have an obvious outward looking disability that requires a wheelchair, walker, or something that causes our bodies to look physically disabled. I do have to use a cane at times because of a flare up and I need extra support to walk or stand because of the overwhelming pain.
I have a handicapped parking pass. I have Fibromyalgia, and have Congestive Heart Failure. I've been stopped a couple times and sometimes they aren't nice about it, and I even walk with a cane. I would of thought the cane makes it a little more evident, but I guess I'm wrong. I've just learned to ignore them, I know I'm not doing anything wrong.
I really love this channel. I have mobility issues because of arthritis. When I had surgery a few years ago, I was given a temporary placard. I only used it a few times in the healing stages.when doc cleared me to walk unassisted, I tossed it. You really never pay attention to the handicapped until you are one or caring for someone. My hope is that you find open spots when you need them. Thanks

I have a disabled placard. I only use it when I rarely use it anymore. I have a power chair to get around but do ride with my daughter sometimes and need it.
If it's a permanent disability the blue picture might be on the license plate. The person will still have a placard so if they have to ride with somebody they can still use the parking. I am a firm believer in the adage " Unless you have walked in someone's shoes(place) don't judge. I love watching Freya interact with her environment.
Marcy, I looked up required handicapped parking spots and I found this. Where parking is provided, accessible parking spaces shall be provided in compliance with Table 1106.1, except as required by Sections 1106.2 through 1106.4. I hope that helps. Apparently the number is based on the number of total parking spots in the lot.
Whew! When you said 30 parking spots at the hospital, I was amazed and I was just thinking along the lines of "the UK is a small crowded island and I shouldn't compare".....and then you said that there was 1 at the Doctor's complex! So maddening and illogical.
It disturbs me that a physical therapy place doesnt have a parking spaces properly sized for additional equipment. Then again the ideal outcome is always independent walking unaided. You could try and make a claim against the place under ADA, not that it would do anything, but it's definitely a violation of bloody well should be!
