Prodigy is great! So glad it got picked up again. Also, I have a personal story about Kate Mulgrew that I would love to be passed on to her should anyone have the requisite connections. When I was a young Star Trek fan, my father got the job as lead driver to move Kate Mulgrew and her husband with United Van Lines. When he left for the job, he took a book of Star Trek ships to see if she would autograph it for me. As it turns out, Kate Mulgrew’s assistant went to have her autograph my book and mistakenly donated it instead. So in turn, Kate gave my father a Star Trek encyclopedia that had been given to her by Mike and Denise Okuda when she was cast. The inside cover says “Welcome to the 24th century Kate!” And is signed by the Okuda’s. My father passed away last year, and I would love for her to know that I still have that book, and that it meant a lot to me. It was a very Janeway thing to do for her to have given me her book like that.
I wasn't expecting much from a what I thought was going to be a kids show but I'm happy I was compleatly wrong. Prodigy and Lower Decks are my favourute of the current generation of Trek shows and I'm so glad there's going to be more.
Love Prodigy. It's the best Trek of this new generation of shows thus far. Thank you Netflix for saving it. Now I want a 5th season of Enterprise (even an Archer miniseries to properly conclude ENT would be great)!
Nah, Strange New Worlds is by far the best, with Lower Decks being *right* on their heels. Prodigy is good, but it in no way trumps either of those. Picard and Discovery, though, are utter trash.
@@DocFunkenstein No fight intended, I always find it interesting to see how different Trekkies interpret and react to the new series. For me, Prodigy, Lower Decks and Discovery are the only new series I personally enjoy consistently and confidently. Prodigy is by far the best-- like legitimately right up there with the likes of TNG, DS9 and Enterprise as my favorites-- and I do think Discovery is easily the best of the new live action stuff. Picard season 1 was solid enough and I'll defend it for sure, but both Picard seasons 2 & 3 as well as Strange New Worlds season 1 was mostly the worst things ever for me. Ro Laren's episode was great and that's it for the last 2 seasons worth of Picard. SNW season 2 was... better, like, watchable at all which is good, but it's like maybe TNG season 1 or 2 quality at best for me at the moment. That is to say, 'yup it's a show'
I'm the rare (probably) example of someone who confidently doesn't love Janeway as a character in Voyager, but loves both Hologram Janeway as well as Admiral Janeway's writing and portrayal in Prodigy. Huge props to all involved! The writers have turned a character I was very lukewarm on and turned em into a character that has genuinely great writing. Kate Mulgrew has always done a great job with the acting, I just think Voyager's writing was by and large so weak that of course the captain suffered too. Seven of Nine and the Doctor were always the only standout elements of Voyager for me
Love Prodigy! 😍 Gotta keep up the support now. I've purchased S1 but will also be watching it on Christmas Day on Netflix UK. I really hope this wonderful, imaginative series gets a S3, 4, 5 and beyond. It's truly one of the top tier Trek shows out there. 😊
Bigger than the Doctor you say? Well if I'm a show writer or runner who wants eyes on the show to keep renewals coming, yea....I go for the jugular and call Avery. Bringing Sisko back, answering questions and seeing him in action again would send MASSIVE shockwaves through the Trek universe from actors to fans to the camera guys. ALL eyes would be on Prodigy.
i'm looking forward to seeing the interactions between Dal and the Doctor. I can just imagine the shenanigans Dal will get up to to mess with the Doc and Doc trying his best to understand Dal's physiology.
I hope Bashir gets to show up on Prodigy season 2! They teased that there will be big characters that are not VOY-related, and Bashir's augment storyline could really fit with Dal's arc. I am also a big fan of Julian Bashir, so I'll be happy with him appearing in any of the ongoing shows 🫣
"Bigger characters than The Doctor"?? PLEASE have a heavy hitter (voice) character from DS9! If Avery Brooks, Michael Dorn, Andrew Robinson or even Colm Meaney makes it onto this show I will absolutely faint.
I wouldn't count on Avery Brooks, but if so that would be amazing. Andrew Robinson and/or Colm Meaney (it could be both!) would be utterly fab! But I'll be quite happy with The Doctor.
I would be down for ANY Jeffrey Combs appearance. Some form of Shran archive? Liquidator Brunt hired by Daimon Nandi to track Dal down? Or a completely new character would be awesome, too!
Why do I get the feeling that Sean is waiting for Robert Beltran to have an extensive appearance in season two so he can whip out a shirt reading "Akoocheemoya "
Ya, it's a touchy subject, but someone's got to ask the two of them live on camera what they think of Beltran's comments on LGBT and violating strike rules. Maybe it would be better if Chakotay disappeared without a trace so he wouldn't get credited or more pay.

I'm super excited for season 2, but unfortunately I have absolutely NO hope of there being a Season 3, at least not on Netflix. Netflix has a well-established track record of canceling popular, fan-favorite shows mainly because they could make MORE money off of something else. I won't even sub to Netflix to watch Season 2 until the ENTIRE season is available. I refuse to pay them a monthly fee when there's nothing else on that service that I give a crap about.
