- This guy is funny! Bob is an American comedian, filmmaker, actor and voice artist, known for his acerbic black comedy, delivered through an energetic stage persona, with an unusual gruff and high-pitched voice. Goldthwait's first major role was Zed in the Police Academy franchise. He starred in One Crazy Summer, Burglar, Scrooged and Hot to Trot. In 1992, Goldthwait directed, wrote, and starred in Shakes the Clown. He began directing Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2004. While there, ratings for the show increased to over 2 million viewers per night, and jumped 50% with teens; however, in May 2006 Goldthwait left to pursue his film career. He returned to directing segments for Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the summer of 2007. He released a one-hour stand-up special in 2011 "You Don't Look the Same Either".
I could listen to his voice all day and after all these years, I still laugh! Brilliant character acting!
She is one of the best interviewers I've ever seen. She helped Bob be as funny as he was.
I love how much she's enjoying him lol
For those who have heard him speak normally, this seems like a really hard character to maintain for extended periods of time. Dude's got talent.
thestarkiller01 I've never heard him speak normally but did wonder if it was real or a character
The only time that I've ever heard him speak normally was when he was in the movie Blow
FYI, this is a normal Bobcat: th-cam.com/video/3gsUeNly1oU/w-d-xo.html
He can speak nomally???.. I have never heard that. Gonna ha e to search the net now!!! Lol
@@rareonyxcourtney3287 Watch Blow.
Great interview love Bob in the Police Academy movies, I have them all on DVD, this interview is so well done. Thanks.😄
Me too 🙃
Bobcat was so underrated. He is such good guy. The voice was always a gag.
Yeah that's the problem
I won't argue with you that he's a good guy but being a gag comic what is the problem.
just like what's his name filling stadiums with middle school girls so he can flail his arms and his body around while talking way louder than normal just so he can sell it joke. Anyways I'm done with the critiquing I've already said something far more profound than what I'm trying to give you here so I love you thank you for having an opinion I hope you appreciate me for having one as well and I wish you well one year later or roughly whatever since you posted this but anyways it is what it is life is one run on sentence as long as you keep your mouth running.
I think he pooped a little. Ha ha I love me some bobcat stand up too
Years ago he was on Bob & Tom Radio Show and he did this bit about David Hasselhoff being in alcohol rehab and finding out that he was on a show about life guards on the beach as if he didn't know it. Hilarious.
That's my cousin you talk about rip cousin
You're right. He doesn't break that voice but he takes the interview serious and treats the interviewer with respect.
Police academy when he terrorized the little guy on the moped. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sweetchuck lol
Brilliant 😂😂 yeah sweet chuck 🖕🖕🖕
nomad with a camera Haha yeah Sweetchuck, and then they became best friends in the academy.
Where do the batteries go?
Nnnnnnnice bike!!! Wwwwwhere you keep the batteries!!!
Bob Goldthwaite is brilliant!
Not only a very funny guy, a fantastic video and an excellent interviewer. It's so nice to see someone who knows how to interview a person. Not interrupting, letting them finish, ask good questions without being rude.
Bob is awesome, but so is this woman.
exactly thats what a smart respectful interviewer would do! lol can only imagine how interviewers/talk show host are today.......
She did an amazing job. They have great chemistry , he’s more relaxed as a personality and she sets him up organically. Great interview, smart jokes and thorough conversation topics so smooth I felt like I went on a journey with this segment. Great find, thank you!!!
Thank you all for your compliments....so nice! Hope you have a chance to check out some of the other interviews on my channel. Blessings to all of you!
@@eileenprose8472 WOW! NICE!
Gorgeous lady just enjoying having a serious laugh at really serious topics. A lot of people could learn so much from her approach to life and interviewing. Just lovely to see. Really miss those days ❤
Bob is a genius...haters can hate but he came up with this act and it is for sure original...you know how many comedians would give their soul to have a successful act that people will remember for the rest of their lives?
Maybe I should report you. You win. Shit.
Yeah, I grimaced when I saw Sam Kinneson try to ride Bobcat's wave, some liked him but I say Sam stunk
And he is know Worldwide, here in Brazil if most of the people with more than 18 years will know him straight away.
Actually he wasn't successful for a long time he played around as nirvanas shit puppet for a good while and it took him a long time to make some real money he did live the party life for sure what a great comic
He's a legend fuck who says otherwise......they are not relevant!!!
🤣 I still crack up at that line in Police Academy 3, when he’s on the motorbike and drives next to the guy on the scooter and says, “nice Bike! Where Do You Put The Batteries!!” 😂🤣
I love it when he realizes his mickey mouse watch don't work and freaks out
I love that part to bro so funny lmao
I have watched that scene1000 times damn!!! it makes my ass of by laughing
Nah, the part where he sprays deodorant in his face.
Im literally watching that part as I view and type💯
The chemistry between these 2 made for a great interview. This is entertaining.
I've seen Goldthwait live at least three times and he was outstanding each time. He's an intelligent, clever, and very insightful guy who's felt some real pain in his life, but finds a way to get something funny out of it. One of my favorite comics and directors.
Stays in character for 10 minutes, legendary.
This is such a great interview she is really laughing the whole way through. Such a likeable guy and very intelligent. Love this
He really makes this woman truly laugh. Breaks her out of character and makes her real. Awesome. Bob is so cool.
My cousin
Some of what he says comes from his standup, like him talking about not aging gracefully.
@@willshaw3493 and the Motley Crue joke
*"Just* *say* *no,* *silly* *me,* *thanks* *for* *solving* *the* *problem* *of* *addiction"* 😂😂😂 Totally underappreciated actor!!
This guy made police academy what it was..I remember crying and struggling to breath with laughter when I first watched it lol.
Seems like such a laid back, genuine nice guy underneath it all.
Michael Winslow took most of the credit. (And earned it)
@TheAdatto I know yea!? Bobcat made police academy!? Pleeease! 👀🤣
GUYS! IM A VEGETARIAN!
I have to compliment the interviewer. Great questions, quick responses, able to keep pace with a fright train comic.
Well done!
Stanly Cat Thank you. He was great fun! I appreciate your watching and taking the time to send such a nice comment. I would welcome you to the rest of my channel. Check out Don Rickles. He was my audition interview and launched my 13 year career in daily, live television. Blessings to you and yours....Eileen
Loved this guy since I was a kid ❤️. Absolutely amazing guy!
This is the voice i love as a kid I was a huge fan of bob even tried to do his voice 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely legendary, loved Zed in Police Academy.
🤣♥️
Antagonist in 2, reformed into protagonist in 3 and 4
I remember how much I loved this guy, when I was a kid. Ahh so nice to watch this and see him looking good and being happy
This is freakin' hilarious, you can tell Bob had a great time once he determined he was being interviewed by a) a person with an intelligence, b) a person with quick wit who could keep up with him, and c) a person who appears to have a great sense of humor and obviously appreciates his brand of it. Really fun to watch, thanks!
She seemed easily entertained
rabooey My Favorite was when he determined he was being interviewed by a beautiful woman with child. Heart melts💚
Well said. Totally agree.
"Motley Crue's drug problem is not finding any after a show."
LMAOOOOOO
damn...that was the best...its great he dont give a shit to ofend "in a joking manner" but he does give a fuck... there is a differance between the two
haha I was scrolling down the comments and as he said that as I viewing your comment
5:10 lol...she went past that part real quick 😂
What a very funny man not seen any of his interviews until now and I laughed my head off 😂😂😂😂
Bob's one of my favorite directors, and I never miss an opportunity to hear him in interviews or see his stand-up. Genius. At that point in his career, he was using interviews as performance art pieces, terrorizing hosts and setting things on fire. And that was hilarious, too. The last thing I expected when I clicked on this was an easy-going back and forth between full-on Bobcat and a kind-hearted professional host who not only wasn't intimidated but was clearly enjoying herself. This is a delight, a perfect example of how a skilled host brings more to the table than a series of questions. Bravo!
“Most likely to be a sniper!!”
Absolutely decked!!! 😂
He's a very funny man. When I first saw an interview I wasn't really expecting anything much but I was pleasantly surprised.
He's so good here, speaks alot of truth and touches subjects you would get hammered for today.
Seeing this guy warps me straight back to 80s. Heh.
Good interview. This woman is a pro.
What an amazing interview.
"I was voted most likely to be a sniper...in grammar school"
"Get in the house we're going to watch police academy 50" LOL 🤣🤣🤣

First time seeing this and I laughed all the way through it. He is truly funny and a great director.
His normal speaking is so lovely. I could listen to him talk for hours.
This was Robin Williams best friend (got Bobcat into the business) and you can see why. Bobcat is actually an extremely smart guy just like Robin and they both played a character for the cameras so you never got to really see much of them, though sometimes like in this interview, chemistry with the interviewer extracts the person inside Bobcat. His interview with Joe Rogan is excellent.
Back in the day when comics stayed in character 24/7
Gilbert still does i think.
Luke Hinkle so wait this is a character he plays? so what his real voice sound like x where did this character even come from...i’ve got some googling to do...
Pee Wee was the most dedicated. He was sportin that creeper look for at least over a decade.
Dice-style.
@Erik Cnating Damn i agree 1ooo%.
Wow, what a great interviewer she is. If more people showed the grace and respect and talent she does, how much more would we appreciate today's celebrities. How is she not more famous?
Its funny how the longer you got him to talk back then the more out of that character he got and the closer you got to his real personality.
He's awesome, right?
What a Legend. I bet Mickey Mouse has a Bob Goldthwait watch.
😂🤣
My cousin bobcat goldthwait
MICKEY!!!

I want a Bobcat watch
This dude on police academy had me rollin. Still gets me lol
That guy will never be forgotten, one of the funniest people to ever live
Um. He's not dead.
@@johnedsel haha. He said that in his recent act. Everyone thought he was dead. Lol.
Why are you talking like he died you're aware he's living and is well
@@lanyla162 I thought he died, lol
I just saw him at a standup club. Looked very much alive.
5:08 Motley Cruë's big problem with drugs is not finding any after the show - That one got me LMAO
PS He was one of Robin Williams' best friends.
Paul Freedman lol
Lwhat?
We love you Robin Williams... we miss you
Paul Freedman They were both friends with the voice actor Billy West too. I have met Billy. He is a lovely person and very funny.
Bobcat said he doesn’t remember interviews but I bet he’ll always remember this one
Both were hilarious 😂
I love Bobcat, he is so much more intelligent than people give him credit for.
to do that kind of comedy and character, he has to have a very high i.Q.
He’s Jewish, sooo
Watch “Shake the Clown”

He killed it love that guy always
Omg I just laughed all the way through...man's a genius!!!
I'll never forget in police academy when he got stuck in the door with that guy.
Hahahahah, I know what scene you are reffering to
Hor Net 🤣🤣 one of the funniest scenes
I love it when they throw the gas grenades in that shed.as they’re all training and the rest of the trainees go running out. And he comes out says something like another 5 minutes and goes back in then closes the door. Cracks me up every time lol
@@marcusphoenixish, that entire scene leading up to that facial expression....
Kind of his Mona Lisa, if that as analogy makes sense.
@@sed8me69that's brilliant lol
Lmao......
He still is the funniest person on the planet! It's GR8 to see this interview again.
Many thanx 👍👍
this is great! he covered lots of important topics, even ones that are still relevant! he seems like a really honest guy, and I admire that he knew when to be a kook and when to be serious. plus I’m sure he was accurate when he made the comment about who the viewers of that show are
My coughing chimney is a creepy guy
Golden!!! I love Bob🤘😤🤘
I love the joy she exudes during this interview
I snort laughed so many times during this video 🤣 Bob is hilarious
Saw him perform at a comedy club with our group of friends. Ten minutes after his show ended, we thought he was gone but he was just standing in the lobby. We talked to him for like 15 minutes. Great guy who appreciates the fans. And...no, he doesn't always talk like that...lol!
Funny he is so chill IRL.
I watched police academy particularly for Bob's comical ingenious the way he used intense expressions to deliver his punches for abruptly causing laughter.
I can't feel my face
Interested in the paranormal cos he wants to figure out where his hair is going... 🤣🤣 that's probably the best answer I've ever heard! Nice one!
Since eighties this man is my hero -
I realize that his humor is more than the way he talks, but it's the funniest delivery ever. I don't think it will ever be topped.
everyone loved this guy, he became icon the moment he put his nose into police academy
One of my favorite. Thanks
My favorite with him was in the Godzilla suit in One Crazy Summer.
Omg yaaaaaas!

Bobcat is amazing. The movie he did God Bless Americs is one of my top favs.
If ANYONE made an interview like that today, screens would start exploding. Those were great times.
“When I was a baby,I had no teeth. I couldn’t get a job - I couldn’t eat beef”😂
😂 when he first cuts to him with the bongos he says "what kinda music ya like, maybe a little reggae, a little loooove beat..." Then he screeches and goes into that. F'n hilarious.
Awesome interview, Eileen!!! I'm gonna have to check out more of them!!
Could not stop laughing. Thanks Bob.
What an awesome talent he is hilarious and that characters voice is incredible .
This guy's 56 now ,and this is about the funniest interview I've ever seen.

No the best is in Police Academy 4 when he breaks his watch and shouts.
MICKEY!
He has on a Mickey Mouse watch.
That just kills me every time. 🤣
HE'S DEAD HE KILLED EM!👈
It was a family heirloom 😂🤣
one of the last things I stole before I join the academy 😂😂😂
Charlotte Dashwood I always loved the part in the beginning when they're raiding the grocery store and the guy brings a whole bunch of meat to Zed and he smacks it down and says "I'm a vegetarian" 😂

I like this lady. She is much more appreciative of a character than most those hosts back then. Good on her.
She should interview Kamala Harris she speak the same language
Bob - Where am I?
