The carbide team entered with Cobalt, and the Apollo team was supposed to compete with Orion this season before covid hit. The Terrorhurtz team is currently competing with Beta, Craig Danby from the Foxic/Apex teams is currently competing with SlamMow. Team Shock (Shockwave/Aftershock) have supposedly sent an application for season 6 as well. There's so many more as well, so the teams do compete!
That's some sweet editing, Bloop! I'm - reluctantly - boycotting and avoiding Season 5 of BattleBots (sob, sniff) for reasons stated elsewhere, so this was just what the doctor ordered. :-)
@@bloopersphoof2874 - Ah, well, y'see... I was against Season 5 of BattleBots going ahead because of the COVID-19 situation. I thought that the programme should have been postponed until the global pandemic/ panic was under control and there were no travel restrictions. I think it was wrong to put on a public event under the circumstances. To me, it was more about pleasing sponsors and making money and securing jobs than acting responsibly. The teams that turned up were being selfish and irresponsible. Oh, yes. And besides, with so many bots missing, the event will lack credibility in much the same way that the Olympics in 1980 and 1984 were ruined by politics. Medals went and records fell to some very unlikely people. Season 5 of BattleBots will be tarnished in exactly the same way. There'll be endless arguments that the new champion is nothing of the sort because - And there's more. Saying that you can hold the event safely by adhering to social-distancing requirements and face-mask rules isn't the point. The people involved may well be at no risk of serious illness, but by travelling and gathering and mingling they're ensuring that the virus remains active in the population. That's not hysteria - it's just common sense. You needn't show any symptoms if you're a carrier; keeping the virus in circulation is a damn stupid thing to do because it guarantees that it can spread to hitherto unaffected areas. Sending kids back to school because they're young and fit and probably immune is insane. There is no better way to disperse a contagious disease than via children. Coughs and sneezes spread diseases - especially in a classroom. So, every unaffected kid becomes a potential carrier, and when they go home, every household becomes a potential source of fresh infection. The virus is transferred to vulnerable people who'd otherwise have been entirely safe. Brilliant. Ignoring a completely avoidable potential hazard is completely irresponsible. The virus needs to be isolated, and filming Season 5 isn't going to help to do that. My objection to BattleBots going ahead was all about minimising risk - not just to the roboteers and the production team, but to people entirely unconnected with the programme. Hotel workers, restaurant staff, traffic cops, ambulance crews, joggers, cyclists, dudes walking their dogs - everybody is put at increased risk if an event like BattleBots goes ahead. If there's a road traffic accident on the way to the venue, the emergency services might come into contact with a carrier. Oh, they might not, but the only way to be sure is not to make contact at all. If a roboteer's car is stolen and the police become involved, that's more bodies to worry about. Someone gets arrested; someone coughs in someone's face; the virus thrives and multiplies and spreads. Which couldn't happen if Series 5 had been put off until next year. So why risk it? $$$$$? Too late now, though. Naturally, bot-fight fans want to see their favourites in action, and Season 5 will be full of amazing battles and big hits and memorable moments; my objection is that expediency has taken the place of safety. I suspect there's been a lot of political pressure to keep the pandemic quiet, hush things up, and reassure the great Merkin public that everything should carry on as normal because COVID-19 is a hoax and a foreign plot to undermine presidential authority. Emperor Trumpholio will have been extremely keen that the message is, "Crisis? What crisis? Everything's fine! I've saved you. A vote for me is a patriotic vote against dirty evil Communists..." So... I'd have been 100% in favour of Season 5 taking place in 2021, but as it's gone ahead, I've decided to stick to my shaky principles and boycott it. I'm avoiding all the news; I'm avoiding some of my favourite TH-cam Channels, like World of Woodrow, because I don't want to see anything connected to BattleBots 2020. I wish everybody concerned well, but I'm having nowt to do with Series 5. I'm not going to watch it or Comment on it (yay, they cry). I'm not happy about missing it - I LOVE robot combat - but I don't want to be hypocritical about this.
@@EleanorPeterson I agree with your boycott as feel that an event such as Battlebots could've been held despite the quarantine. I mean, it would mean less staff on hand and zero crowds, but it seems like it would be possible to organize and hold robot combat through a streaming service from an empty arena or a similar environment with no spectators and staff/competitors properly screened and distanced. The fact that it's being aired with an audience and full production is a questionable decision that you're quite right to boycott.
@@EleanorPeterson while everything you say is valid it is also true that if no amount of being careful will help then there we shouldn’t even try which is not the case. They are trying to stay safe and still entertain people which I believe they handled very well. Also oh it’s not going to be an underwhelming season.... Mark my words this may be the best season yet.
Can't believe it's been nearly three years since we last saw these legends in action. RIP Robot Wars.
Rip freddie Mercury and robot wars you will always be remembered and loved😔
I think the classic series champions would be good for this.
I remember watching this and thinking, this is one of your oldest videos. Thanks for reuploading it. Thanks.
The music is great
This is more brilliant than it should be, I am not complaining
Petition to make robot wars competitors compete in battlebots
