So he is right about reviewing ChatGPT's code, 99.99 % of the time I have to make the final modification and then get it reviewed by ChatGPT and then it apologizes, understand what I wanted says, your code is absolutely correct.
frankly they won't care as long as it works because that is what they pay him for, his skill to create code which solves the problem at hand doesn't matter what techniques he uses or where he copies it from

Copy paste if fine when you need to get something done fast or you are just starting out, if you want to reach higher positions you need to learn how to organize your code, optimize it and make it efficient. Design patterns and principles makes you understand code at a deeper level. Chat GPT is fine for helping you out with small snippets. But if you rely only on Chat GPT then you will be replaced soon cause a good programmer using Chat GPT can do what you do, but you wouldn't be able to do what he/she does.

Using a generative AI tool is not going to make you a better programmer, but it will help you get things done faster, and I have made it a part of my workflow, it is great for quick prototyping. But I would never trust it on production. By your comment, I am guessing you either must be just starting out somewhere, or you must be highly experienced in system design to let me know that I dont know what I am talking about. Either way, as I said, if you aren't open to learning, you will be left behind. :)

I know what I do can't be done by AI yet, understanding the business requirements and implementing sub systems in an already complex project, building libraries and optimizing various parts of the system from DB to messaging queues is not something Chat GPT can do. And it will never be able to do it. You see, it lacks the most important thing, the human factor, Intuition.
